2012 Camaro subwoofer install
Hey guys,
Im doing a sub install in my friends 6 cylinder camaro. I was wondering what I should use for my hot switch for my amp. Everythings real easy with the battery being in the trunk. I ran a wire to the fusebox but its poorly labeled and im not sure which fuse to tap into to use as my hot wire. Its a newer car and im afraid some may mess with security/onboard computer any suggestions? |

There is a green wire in the harness to the cigarette lighter. (Green in my 2011 SS)
It's only on when the ignition is on, and shuts off when the radio goes off after turning off the car. |
I bought a PAC LOC with the remote wire built in and it works great. I bought one without it and when I looked at how I'd run the wire to the cigarette lighter, I decided it wasn't worth it. If you need an LOC anyway, you might as well get one with the remote built in. It's so much easier.

I got mine from a local car stereo place. Another member told me he got his from Best Buy, but the one near me didn't have any. Amazon has them too and I think cheaper than mine was, but I didn't want to wait for shipping so I paid extra.

Also, there was a step by step instructions thread here using the exact LOC I used so between that and the instructions that came with the LOC, the install was really simple. You'll just have to search around the site a bit. I think the model is PAC SOEM-T. Good luck!

I too have a non-ba system and used the factory remote amp line. See here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213330 |
