Definitive launch date for Camaro Convertible?

Definitive launch date for Camaro Convertible?

When is it? I have read the blogs, heard the speculation, even talked to someone who claims to "have one on order" for January delivery...

My wife wants a new set of wheels and claims she will be happy with a Camaro convertible. If the car is due in the next few mos., I'll be safe. Otherwise, it's gonna be a long winter, waiting...

Anyone with good news and the straight scoop? :iono:

If I recall 2nd Qtr 2011 this is why I decided to buy one to get me by for the next 18 months :)

Definitely not this January, that person was probably pulling your leg. I've also heard first half of 2011.

We wouldn't buy a coupe to have a Camaro sooner. But I understand :drinking:

Well some really reliable people on here that actually work in Oshawa have said that the plant is shutting down for a week this Jan to add in a line for the Camaro rag top.

Also GM has said that the 'vert will be sold as a 2011 model so you MIGHT be able to order one this summer after the model year changes over.

Your post makes sense about the addition of the convertible in Jan. It is fairly typical of the next model year being able to be ordered anyways in May - not summer though... I Know the Corvette I ordered (2010) was placed in mid-May 2009. It was built the first day of 2010 production, at the very end of July.

You are miss-interpriting his post. he got a 2LT to get him through the next 18 months untill he can get an SS 'vert. Now thats nice... a passifier car... :w00t:

Thats what I did in 2007 when my RX8 lease was up. I bought a 2007 Corvette and sold it right before my Camaro was built!

I understood, but still don't want my own Camaro coupe now, just to take a loss when I were to trade for the convertible

I tend to keep cars 10+ years, so I just don't fit that profile:word:

Who said I was going to trade in the 2010 2LT/RS for the Vert? I still own my 2000 Camaro, and my 2001 Z/28 no need to trade in I collect them :D

I just needed my fix for a New Camaro now like Scott Settlemire said why wait buy one now and buy one when the vets are out :chevy:

Collecting Camaros is so addicting! I still have the 89 IROC we got June 2, 1989! I am always looking! Next on the list is a red 97 SS with ttops and a manual. I prefer the deep set lights.

You didn't say you would, either way

By the looks of your list of cars, fair enough - enjoy your SS. And the Convertible when it comes in :drinking:

At times, I wish I still had my 1989 GTA. It was one of the best all-around cars I have owned :headbang: The guy I sold it too, promised to keep it as nice as I had. Sadly, he lied

Not for a long while. We have only produced a handful for dealer showrooms and publications, hand built as most of the equipment isent up and running yet.

OUR72GTO 11-08-2009 08:34 PM

Yo ...collectors... there is a 2002 with only 3000 miles in the Chevy Dealer in Kelowna BC. It's a loaded red rag top.
