If the op used it on his car then it is locked to his vin number and can not be used by the person who buys it.

Yes, I will call the guys at Vector. They have a loaner cable that they use for those who do not want to buy one, you just pay for shipping. I cannot imagine they change and discard it after each use. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

you also need to have a current tune or buy a VMS tune to use it.

I would certainly hope that is common sense, since a tune would be for YOUR modifications...........
