Setup garage door opener

Hi,

I wanted to know how I can program the garage doors to the car. I saw a few videos and have done my van as well as my previous truck and car. For some reason the camaro refuses to sync.

Can someone please tell me step by step what to do?

Thanks,
Vai

Here ya go:
Programming the Universal
Remote System
For questions or help programming the Universal Remote system, call
1-800-355-3515 or go to www.homelink.com.
Programming a garage door opener involves time-sensitive actions, so
read the entire procedure before starting. Otherwise, the device will time out and the procedure will have
to be repeated.
To program up to three devices:
1. Hold the end of the hand-held transmitter about 3 to 8 cm (1 to 3 in) away from the Universal Remote system buttons while keeping the indicator light in view. The hand-held transmitter was supplied by the manufacturer of the garage door opener receiver
(motor-head unit).
2. At the same time, press and hold both the hand-held transmitter button and one of the three Universal Remote system buttons to be used to operate the garage door. Do not release the Universal Remote system button or the hand-held transmitter button until the indicator light changes from a slowly to a rapidly flashing light. You now may release both buttons.
Some entry gates and garage door openers may require substitution of Step 2 with the
procedure noted in “Gate Operator and Canadian Programming” later in this section.
3. Press and hold for five seconds the newly trained Universal Remote system button (the button selected in Step 2) while observing the indicator light and garage door activation.
.
If the indicator light stays on continuously or the garage door starts to move when the Universal Remote system button is pressed and released, then the programming is complete. There is no need to continue programming Steps 4–6.

Does your opener have a learn button?

Is the homelink installed in your Camaro?

If it is, the owner's manual outlines the procedure for programming your garage door opener to the car. It worked great for me.

Yup, worked first try for me. Just hold the learn button down and the button in your car. Should quit blinking after a few second.

Instructions in manual worked.

I just programmed the garage door opener to the homelink system

Thanks guys, I tried to follow the manual and YouTube videos before but it didn't work. I will try your suggestions tonight.

If the instructions in the camaro manual doesn't work, try looking up the instructions for your garage door opener, its the same sequence for programming a new remote.

Usually something like push the button on the back of the opener, then run to the car and hold the homelink button for a few seconds within 30 seconds.

Need to do this also.

I hate home link. I can get one programmed then trying to add others "bleep bleep homelink piece bleep". In the car out the car in the car up the ladder off the ladder in the car out of the car pat you head rub your tummy and balance on one foot whoohooo finally its programmed. No thanks I will stick with my row of remotes on my visor.

Some of the newer garage door openers have to be programmed differently. The one at my house works more like a bluetooth, where both the opener (the big controller inside the garage that physically lifts the door) and the Homelink system both have to be in "discovery" mode at the same time in order to sync. I cant use the hand-held opener to program it.

To program it, you basically need 2 people to do it. One in the car putting homelink into discover mode, and another on a ladder inside the garage. I've been in my house for 2.5 years now and I still haven't done it because it's such a PITA.

My Homelink is programmed to open and close my HPP.
