Brake dust build up
Just purchased a 2013 ZL1 with optional polished aluminium wheels. Have removed all four wheels and cleaned them thoroughly and then used "Wheel Wax" on them. I still get a lot of brake dust build up even after only a few miles of driving. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem? Switching to ceramic brake pads?? Thanks for any help.

Quite a few folks have switched to ceramics pads and claim less brake dust. I have the same wheels and just deal with it.....

I changed to Hawks ceramic pads and would NEVER go back to the factory pads. 99% less brake dust.

Thanks. Looks like I'm switching to ceramic pads.

What hawk pad is comparable to the stock brembo pads as far as stopping power goes? HP+?

I live with the dust. Lots of discussion about the reduced effectiveness when not using the factory pads on the ZL1 just to eliminate dust. JusticePete had a great response on why we should live with the dust. With that said, I completely understand why the dust is a pain. I'm constantly cleaning mine...

Which pads did you install, the dealer service people here, say GM only sells ceramic pad now, for Camaros have you heard this and if they are any good as compared to the Hawk Pads that they mention on here.
Thanks for the feedback Quote:

I have had this dust issue since day one,I,m becoming a Slave to cleaning the rear panel and mud guards. After a 20 minute drive they look like the car went through a smoke bank with the black carbon on the wheels and panel.I guess the best thing is not drive it lol. That would eliminate it.
