Quote: "Except for a slightly lazy electronic throttle, there's nothing to complain about in the power department, as the manual transmission Camaro SS easily thumps both the Challenger SRT8 and the latest Mustang GT."
Nuff said. |
One nice touch is an LED light pipe that runs around the dash to uplift the evening-cruise mood.
Seems they got to test out a fully working ABL in theirs..Too bad we are not going to be so lucky.. |

I am extremely disappointed with the 1/4 mile numbers in all of these reviews.
|
ya but look at the MPH in them.. that's a high 12's capable car.
I just compare it to the numbers they get with the Mustang and Challenger.. the Camaro IS faster than both..so if challengers/mustangs are pulling better times off than what the magazines are posting, so will the Camaro. |
Uh yea, some were saying 11's stock possibly. I told them they were drinking too much.
|
they even have the test cars being misleading with the ABL. Uf you look at all the other rad tests, they have been given cars with cloth panels and such.
I dont understand why they havnt given all production intent cars. Some are production intent, like the 1SS and so, but others are still missing key parts |

No these reviews are from a while back they just could not print untill the embargo got lifted at 6

Does AutomobileMag Know something we don't?
So I was reading AutomobileMag's review of the SS and found that they mentioned ambient lighting going the width of entire dashboard...

Like ArcAngel said, these reviews are from a while back, so I guess they just didn't have the ABL on long enough for it to get hot and burn up, or whatever it's shortcoming was....and no excuse for the slow times when we know it has done better. Otherwise, very positive.

Though I am impressed, espsecially with the V6. It seem that with 3.45 gears and 28.7" tall tires makes the camaro soft off the line. This is a very good deal, but if Ford does come out with a 5.0 then the camaro will need 3.73 gears ASAP! Which should make the camaro even quicker. Too me it looks like chevy sacrificed some acceleration to achieve fuel economy. The the V6 is incredible!!
