My new carbon fiber bowtie

Here are some pictures of a little project I completed earlier. I decided the bowtie would look pretty sick with the gold part of it being carbon fiber so I did it. Let me know what you think of it and how it looks and pm me with any questions.

PS: I will post pictures of it on the car tommorow!

Tell us where you got it. Support your vendors.

I did it myself with a sheet of carbon fiber vinyl. I think I'm going to start selling them precut sometime if anyone is interested. It is very easy once you get the dimensions of the gold part of the bowtie and cut it out on the vinyl.

I'm impressed. If you make anything else, show us.

Thank you and will do!

i did the same thing....i was able to buy a foot long sheet at autozone and just placed a larger piece over the bowtie......i had to stretch it a little to fit good and get it smooth......there is a perfect lined indentation around the bowtie to run an xacto around and mine turned out perfect. did em both in about 10 minutes for about 10 bucks! yours looks great too!

I did this too, but I got a little wrinkle on the front one that I couldn't live with... the wrinkle was due to the curvature of the bowtie. I tried several times to do this without getting the wrinkle, and ended up running out of the material after about 8 tries. I even tried heating it..... which helped, but I still couldn't get the wrinkle 100% gone... So I had it painted.

Looks great.

I did the same thing using the same vinyl. The rear went on nice in one piece. The front however I had to do in 2 pieces. I couldn't get the angles with one piece. Did you do yours in 1? If so how did you manage it? Would love to know.

This is exactly what I did -- got a roll of carbon-fiber vinyl at Autozone. Installed it back in early October & it's holding up great through all the cold & snow in Nebraska this winter. Still have plenty of material left over in case it should ever need to be replaced down the road. I highly recommend!
