1st State Camaro5

WELCOME TO 1ST STATE CAMARO5 !!!!!!!!!!!

This is the official home of the Delaware Camaro5 owners (and a few others with connections to DE). At this time, we are an informal group that likes to meet up about every 1-2 months to have fun, talk about our rides, and get a good meal. If you are interested in joining us or just want to stop by and see what we are up to, post +/or check in here for the latest news and updates on where we will be and what we will be doing. :chevy:

Also catch up with us on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/groups/Delaware.Camaro/

I will be updating this page with various items as things develop as well as post the current info on any meetups or shows we are going to or want to attend.

SILVERHAWK 07-21-2012 11:58 AM

Our first order of business will be to discuss the next meetup......

I will throw out the date of August 25th or 26th.....

Ideas....there were a few on the table most of which concerned somewhere in New Castle County.... Timothy's on the Waterfront and Famous Dave's were two most people talked about as I recall and could accomodate a group with parking. I would like to also extend invites to SJCC, DVCC, MDCC, FSFBA, and SEPA5

Wuiquen 07-21-2012 04:53 PM

Finally... yeah buddy... i think the 26 is a good day. At least i know ill be able to make it
And i vote for famous daves. They have good food. Glad we finally have a club.

mcbeth15 07-21-2012 05:37 PM

Cool, and welcome back!!!!

TAZMNDEVIL 07-22-2012 07:03 AM

1st State Camaro5 it is! Are we looking at an afternoonish meetup? Saturday (25th) would probably be better for us. School will be back in session and Sunday nights always turn out to be chaotic.

So when do we vote on the logo? I have a spot waiting for it on my window!

bluebox 07-22-2012 08:58 AM

Decent chance at making the 25th or 26th - as long as you don't mind a wife and/or toddler package in tow. :) Famous Dave's Christiana or N Wilm? (didn't have a good experience first time there, though...) Timothy's is good too, never been there, like to try.

Another spot might be Jose's Border Cafe near Christiana Mall (everyone seems to know the big EAT sign). Tex mex to die for, and a nice big lot behind it.

TwoBlind is getting ideas for the logo and then I believe he is going to make a poll thread on it just like we did with the name
As far as the meetup and timing.....I would like to make it around the middle of the day.....to center around a meal if we are going to do this near a restaurant. That way no matter what day we do it...it shouldn't interfere with school stuff even with a 40 min ride from Dover.

No problem bringing the family....my wife is going to be there...can't guarantee the kiddos will be...they like being old enough to stay home.

I think they were talking about Dave's near Christiana....I am not familiar with either of them...so I don't know which is better for parking....especially with others being invited. The Riverfront is where the DVCC show is...so I KNOW THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM THERE.

I guess we will need someone from up north to do some intel for us... like checking to see if these places may "hook" us up if we are bringing them a good crowd.

0.1) Curses, jumped the gun a bit. Son's b-day now on the 25th, visiting sister/BIL from VA have to work labor day, Phils/Nats tix on 26th and they want to go... Life rolls on.

1) Dave's across from Concord mall is in a strip of restaurants, which gets very crowded from the PA tax-dodgers on weekends (I live right up Naamans from there). Might still be room out back of TGIFridays on the end. Heck, the mall might be happy to host us, plenty of room in their lot, they've done these things with groups before, Ruby Tuesdays or Champps is there...

2) I'd be happy to do intel/ask around, just need to add that 8th day of the week so I can go to some of them!

I can give any intel needed once we narrow down the places. I can post some ideas for each place. We eat just about every weekend in that area of Delaware.

COOL!!!!! whats your take on the area around famous dave's for parking....your opinion on which would accommodate a bunch of us better??? or are they about the same?

can you do either day like last time or is saturday the only day you can make it?

SILVERHAWK 07-22-2012 05:46 PM

Did some of my own intel.... gave Famous Dave's a call....

They would love to have us patronize the business, but unfortunately they will not allow us to hang out especially with a bunch of cars (over 20 I would say)....and neither will the shopping center across the street... she is going to try and get me the info for the owner of big empty lot in the immediate area where we could congregate and walk into any business in the area. she said they get pretty busy either day so it would be spotted seating 5 here 10 there kind of thing.
we will have to get someone to contact timothy's.....she said we may run into that there as well..

Wuiquen 07-22-2012 06:23 PM

I really think that dave's in christiana would be a good choice. idk about the food in timothy's.. i dont care either way.. I cant wait for this. I might have to get some new stuff for the car...

That Famous Dave's is always busy and there would be no way for us all to park together. The Bertucci's next to it in the shopping mall parking lot even when they are busy there are always a lot of spots available. Along the edge of the parking lot where I have circled. The shoppers for the mall do not park there and Bertucci's has plenty of parking and no one parks that far away. If we decide on Dave's this will be our best bet, border cafe has plenty of parking behind the restaurant but the pavement is not in the best shape. If we go to Timothy's or Joe's Crab shack there is plenty of parking at any of those places so it would not be an issue.

SILVERHAWK 07-23-2012 06:51 AM

Yeah, I did not have time to google map the other lot that is right nearby your photo above..... but I don't want there to be an issue... thanks for the intel Trailbreaker and OntheAccount

Glad to see a Delawre group getting going. Gives me something to look forward to when I move back home. I goto OCS (official civilian status) in 2014. I'll be moving back to Delaware when I retire from the Coast Guard.

I know it's still quite a while off, but I'm adding linking up while your Facebook page now.

880 07-23-2012 04:13 PM

Famous Daves in Christiana is def super busy on the weekends. Crazy traffic there too.

Joe's Crab/Iron Hill/Big Fish are all packed over the weekend too.

Timothys stands by itself. I go to Iron Hill almost every weekend and can scope out the place and ask about some discounts.

880 07-23-2012 04:16 PM

Also throwing out Hooters on Kirkwood Hwy as a suggestion. There is a lot behind Hooters, and another lot in front of it.

880 07-23-2012 04:17 PM

Also throwing out Ruby Tuesdays in Pike Creek. Cruise Nights are held there every month.

Wuiquen 07-23-2012 06:09 PM

Yeah those extra places sound good too...
Idk maybe we can pick three places and do a poll.. or else we never gonna decide

SILVERHAWK 07-23-2012 06:22 PM

Yeah, I wouldn't mind Hooters either as long as my wife doesn't bruise the back of my head when she catches me lookin' at the sights......BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

SILVERHAWK 07-24-2012 07:03 AM

Anyone from up north want to contact Hooters and Timothy's to find out if they will accomodate us...then we can vote. I'll be down at the beach for the day cause its my birthday!!! :happyanim::drinking:

I would like to say the date will be the 26 th at 1pm just at the tail end of lunch.

205 Kirkwood Hwy.

It's across the YMCA. I think the shopping center is called Astro Center.

Good stuff!!

I just called Timothys. They don't have a problem with the cars, but they won't offer us any specials/discounts.

Maybe you have the magical touch?? and try your luck with them??

Wuiquen 07-24-2012 04:46 PM
