buick 3.8 into camaro

hello all, i am wondering if anyone has put a buick motor into a camaro? both 2000's, both 3.8s.. i know the intake will have to be changed, along with some other things... but they are compatible, correct?

Yes, as far as the block goes it should be compatible. The oil pan and oil filter assemblies are different. You'll need to swap over your accessories, and like you mentioned, the intake assembly is different. The Camaro also had aluminum valve covers I believe, where the buick didn't.

Do you just have a busted block?

thank you for your input! the motor has a serious rap in the camaro, it will hardly run. being as all the rwd setup engines are all up around 1000$, and the fwd at 300$+ im thinking i might as well save some cash and swap everything over!

Yeah, it's a huge pain to drop the engine out of a 4th gen, but if you can get the k-member and engine all out, it should be easy enough to swap everything over.
