I have been a Camaro fan for a LONG time. But if I had the $$$ I would have all 3 lol.
But the 5.0(almost 5.1 now!) DI and port injection combo works very well. Lot of mid and upper pulling power.
Hopefully GM will jump on board and use the dual injection technology from the LT5. With more compression and slightly revamped cam shaft the 6.2 would be a best. It already has lots of low end power.

according to C/D,top end is the same as my 2015 RS.

That's exactly where GM needs to go, add port injection to the existing direct injection on the LT1, that should allow a 12 to 1 compression ratio and a HP bump, put the great 10 speed auto in the SS, add a touch more gear and we will have a beast.

Say what you want about the dash, I wish Camaro's had such a huge easy to see graph style tach that high in cluster.

Mine is right up on the windshield where I can see the road and the HUD at the same time.
The old time drag racers turned their round gauges so that a good reading was at the 12 O'clock position. That was easiest to read at a glance. Temp, oil pressure, volts RPM all good.
I think the port injection is a nod to old school method to help with the problem of carbon building up on the back of the valves. The detergent in good gas helps keep that clean, IF there is gas squirted on it e.g. with port injection. If the gas is only in the combustion chamber with direct injection, not so much.
That's kept me from buying a direct injection gas engine so I'm happy for this small step backwards DI PI combo to make it better.

I agree, a tach as high as possible so you can see out the windshield same time and a good bright shift light that no OE has to my knowledge. The one you don't have to look at to see and bang your next gear.

Slowest time I have seen for an 18 GT by far.

Its the first magazine 6 speed manual test on a 18 that I have seen, I think 12.50's for the manual car is going to be a conservative benchmark.

*they're ("they are")

Seems it was more like Ford baiting Chevy with their '64 Mustang to make their own pony car. Which they did ... three years later.

lol

It was actually less than 2 1/2 years later (April 1964 - September 1966) and technically the Plymouth Barracuda was the first pony car by two weeks.

There have been a few Mustangs I like, but not the latest version, just as I don’t like the current Camaro. Either way, the two of them constantly one-upping each other benefits all of us.
