I've managed to get all the correct checksums for #12 through #20, but none of them work...yet

Did you calculate them for the various engine and model codes? I'm guessing #10 is a v6. I haven't exhausted all the options for that them as it would just take too long.

Good point. I didn't even bother trying the V6 since I thought it was constrained. But I guess that doesn't mean it couldn't be a dealer car...

Wow look at all the cars coming to North Carolina...

WAIT, did anyone else notice #1 has the orange stripe package? lol.... guess he has to do it himself at his dealership.

Here's a great site to get the check digit:

http://www.alton-moore.net/vin_calculation.html

Just cut and paste this into the field:

2G1FT1EWxA9XXXXXX

*note the small "x" is for the check digit and the last six "X" are the production number. enter any production number you want, but more than likely it won't be able to find it as there are very few actual VIN's produced as of now. I was messing with this for a while today and got absolutely no work done.

Thanks. I think I tried that one but it wasn't working 100% but I just tried it again and it seems to work. Maybe I was on crack.

i was told by my dealer that the black stripes will be put on at the factory but only the black. Anybody hear different?

Chocolate Apocalypse 03-18-2009 04:56 PM

I've been playing with this too and summarizing my findings in a spreadsheet.

Below is some of what I have so far. If someone can help me with the possible values for the 7th and 8th digit of the VIN I can add a lot more.

Awesome work! For the VIN info as I know it, see this thread/post.

I'm going to continue working on finding VINs and putting them in a spreadsheet unless someone else is working on this and has an easier way.

I've probably found all the 2SS with manual transmissions through #200. I'll work hard on this tonight and see how far through the VINs I can get.

Neat Info, like I said can't wait till members are posting pics of their own 2010 Camaro
