Camaro problems

Any Camaro problems I should be weary, or watch out for? I have some friends with BMWS saying that because it's American, it's poorly built. I already own one so its not like I don't like it, I would just like some arguments to counter attack my buds, and for my sake on the future, so I know what to look out for. Be as unbiased and as honest as possible please :D

I think there is a section just for that.

I have had mine for a month now..no problems.

Those BMW's are just jealous.

these comments coming from BMW owners? That's interesting. I have 3 friends that bought 3 different generations of 3 series BMWs new and all 3 either didn't buy another BMW or said they wouldn't buy another... BMWs aren't exactly known for their reliability.

But if you want educated argument points, go find quality surveys for the BMW models that your friends have. There isn't much out about the Camaro yet, but I think it's built on the same platform as the Pontiac G8 so look up quality and reliability ratings for that car to get an idea of how the Camaro SHOULD perform in regards to quality.

Yeah, BMW's are known for their higher than average maintenance costs...Pot/Kettle/Black?

I have owned 5 BMW's and everyone had some type of eletrical problem, and one they couldn't find the problem to fix it.

i think the biggest problem i've heard on this site is that the passenger seat sits too low, and the sun visors are too skinny, and the cup holders are placed wrong for the manual transmission...That should tell you something right there. lol

it's too early to tell but so far so good. my dad was also of the belief that american-made cars are cheap/poorly done, but even he admits the camaro is pretty solid. we'll have to see how they hold up a few years from now

I've got over 12,000 trouble free miles with mine so far...knock on wood. As far as your friends BMW's find out which models each one has and then just do a google search for complaints on each model. that should pull some issues up.

one problem you will find with any of the camaro models is people constantly gawking or commenting on the car.

Well there is an issue with the hvac blower motor. Dam thing makes this whine noise. Dealer is fixing it today under warrenty. Other then that its great! BMW's = BMtroubleU's.

Only issue I've had so far is the paint chipping due to the spoiler. Dealer took care of it though. :chevy:

2 oil leaks and notchy M6 gears. Other than that all o.k.!

12/09/2009 to 12/09/2010 make one year of ownership of my 2010 SS, no problems, approx 4,900 miles now. BMW is a refined vehicle however the depreciation of that brand vehicle is rediculous.
