I'm down for a dyno day in Beaufort, we should decide on a place and call ahead with an approximate amount of cars to see if we can get a discount.

A couple of you guys who live up there should go scout out the shops for us to find out which look decent and have a decent price... ahm, habunow1... lol

habunow1 04-20-2013 02:11 PM

I get the hint im going out with some people tonight and will start asking around and can get some prices during the beging of the week for a sunday dyno group rate if yall are down for coming to beaufort.

mpiersd 04-21-2013 06:01 PM

I'm always willing to hang around for a dyno day. Love hearing a V8 screaming.

Compuzen 04-22-2013 09:12 PM

I don't have anything set for Sunday. It'd be bad ass to get a dyno before I do any future mods.

How do the eagle eyes differ from stock?

Mine was a non RS car, so it did not have the Halos. I think yours is RS...already have Halos...you have what i wanted...when I didn't order the RS package. yours are better! :D

mpiersd 04-26-2013 12:16 PM

Yep, I've got the RS. But I'm thinking of upgrading my halos.

Didn't know about it or I probably would have went. Also that was probably the white one I saw in Hinesville that wouldn't stop to talk to me when I was right beside them...

I've searched online and the closest to me is Tifton, Ga..... a haul for ya'll. There are some listed in Beaufort and Hardeeville.......such as this one http://www.uniquetuning.com/

There is that one you found in Hardeeville and I found Carter Racing in Savannah but considering our meet is this weekend it's starting to sound like a bust this go around. I guess we could drive over there just to see. What's everyone's take for this weekend?

mpiersd 04-30-2013 11:01 PM

I'll be there. May even take a base run if the dyno works out. Be a good start beofre I order my first hp mod.

http://www.uniquetuning.com/

I read on another site that this place is good at tuning, and has a dyno. Not sure if this is the one some were talking about. but the guys name is mike. we would need to give them some notice and let them know how many were bringing so we don't screw up their schedule. this week prob wont do, but we don't have to wait till next month, we can do it whenever.

anyone feel like stopping into this place? its in hardeville area. see what they say about doing just dyno pulls, no tuning or tuning if some want??

side note, I just finished up my BMR split drop spring install tonight. really happy with the look.

Save some of your money Summit is almost always the most expensive, search around some:

I get the racer's discount through jegs. crushes summit prices and dont have to pay sales tax

$233.19 for that volant, for instance.

how much of a discount would there be on this?

http://www.jegs.com/i/Borla/157/140206/10002/-1

429 05-01-2013 05:50 PM

963.99 list price...
917.16 my price

so $45 off or so.

Some items are more discount then others, its generally 5-20%

Jer4251 05-01-2013 05:56 PM

autoanything has this exhaust for 933. and they have free shipping, no tax, and there is a site wide 15% off coupon if they will let me use it. takes it to $793. now that's a big savings if they let me do it.

I really need an exhaust on this trailblazer before I take it to ohio at the end of the month.

cant use the coupon on borla. that blows. but they did say they would match the 913 from jegs. still too much for me

429 05-01-2013 06:45 PM

Just cut your cans/resonator off and add some nice mufflers or something. I can't honestly see all that money in a catback.

I have two $45 mufflers and two $90 race mufflers on my car... total cost of exhaust from headers back is like $350, and thats just because i have vibrant race mufflers on there as well for some extra noise reduction.

Guess im just a DIY fan, but why not add a pair of borla XR-1s in the stock catback, and re-use the factory tip(s)? Way cheaper, same or better sound.

Jer4251 05-01-2013 06:58 PM

right now I have my longtubes and off road y pipe. I replaced the stock muffler with a flowmaster race style from a 2010 Camaro. and then I hacked off the resonator and tip. so it just dumps under the truck. I wanted to go with quad tips in stead of a single tip. figured to get a really nice kit I would just buy a slp or borla if the price wasn't too crazy. the companies are out of their minds on what they sell them kits for. its a few pieces of pipe and a single muffler. I can always throw a different muffler under it and finish it out the back but would rather have stainless which most shops don't do 3" stainless bending. I tend to use discount in garden city for my exhaust welding

429 05-01-2013 07:29 PM

barrys in savannah for me... tips are expensive. corsa ones are super nice but they're like $200 a piece

Jer4251 05-01-2013 07:39 PM

Im going to order 2 borla XR-1 sportsman oval mufflers and get some tips used from a guy on the TBSS site, and have a local shop make me duals. I should be able to fit 2 mufflers under the tbss you think. 240 shipped for the mufflers.

Jer4251 05-01-2013 07:45 PM

barrys charged someone I know like 200 bucks to do a muffler delete, where discount charged me $60 a few different times I had them do it.

429 05-01-2013 10:01 PM

its all about who you know ;)

mmarx82 05-02-2013 09:24 AM

Anybody down for a Mid-May Car show May 18 in Statesboro? We could do a meet at the usual place and ride up together. From what I hear at work this is a pretty good sized car show.

Do we have plans for tomorrow?

naSSty1 05-04-2013 01:55 PM

That Southern Cruisers car show is a nice one. They put on a good show usually. Ive taken my bike to one before and enjoyed the hell out of it. Lots of old muscle when I went. I hope Im back in time to go again. I would cruise up there with some people.

Right now the rotofab is the only way to go with the zl1 intake. CAI has been building one for a long time now but no word on a date. K&n also has one out. But 90% of zl1 owners who changed have gone rotofab. I plan on it as well. Under 400 shipped is pretty good

Jer4251 05-04-2013 05:14 PM

I prob won't be making it if there is rain. Don't drive her in the rain.

I got the K&N for my car. Had it on there at the last meet and I'm more than satisfied. Picked it up for under $500 from autoanything.com but I had to find another website for them to price match to which they will do for up to one year after your purchase too. A lot of people got the rotofab one but since at the time they were they only ones that had one out and everyone seems satisfied with it too.

Btw I plan to be there tomorrow but I have essays due tomorrow too so if I don't show that's why.
