I am in the same class..
I kept reading the rulebook to make sure I didn't go outside the rules with all the stuff I did. it's going to be a battle this year. The guy I race against in my class is the national champion for the country.. I have been shrinking the gap every race last year. The changes this year should help me get close to his times. The other guy I am competing against runs a high downforce wing and a front splitter on his car. It's going to cost me almost 3K for the quality parts to add to my car.. I am going to do them towards the end of the year, or over next winter. I will show you the wing I am going to use when we are at the fest.. there will be a comparable wing on one of the GM concept cars. At 100 MPH, the rear wing generates 900 Lbs downforce... it needs to be mounted THROUGH the trunk to the frame. |

I'd use that, but the rules only let you have 900 square inches of wing...
Hint.. these guy's run the same airfoil I am going to use for the basis of the rear wing. |

I know a chassis shop that can make them fit. :D
This guy has that size rear tire. I don't think he will pass state inspection for a street car, though.. Hey.. I just noticed.. he has the rear wing I need. LOL http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/1...opromodak5.jpg http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/390...promod2da6.jpg |

LMAO
Well here are some pics so you can see what I'm talking about with the trunk. If I continue to get some tapping, I'm gonna drill em out with a whole saw and put a rubber plug in there.. :D the red "X" in the voids are where I did the hammering. I used the handle of a long framing hammer and a 2.5 lb sledge to beat the sheet metal up. To find the hammer point (the red X) I taped an inch of crayon to the top of the coilover and carefully seated the completely assembled coil in the LCA and in the void. even with an inch of crayon it easily hits the trunk before the upper perch is flush... then remove the coil find the crayon smudge and draw and X... then let the beating begin... :D from what everyone has told me. I should be good to go. Pedders already has my Cam endlink on the way Should have it by the time I get home tomorrow. should be good to go and back on the road :D First pick is drivers side rear perch void Second is passenger side Third is trunk. |
PQ AKA MR. Anderson..

I'm not sure why I haven't named THR22... other than THR22... Maybe my days in the Navy... I do believe cars are women... Just like ships... I served most my sea time on the Connie... CV64 USS Constellation... I look back on her like a bad relationship... She took care of me, kept me safe was always there when I came home... But she was an insufferable B!#(h when she wanted to be... And made everyone around her miserable too... So, I guess, I'd rather not make the same connection with my Car as I do my ship... I look at my car completely differently... ... THR22 is kinda like that sexy girl you.... Never mind... ;) :iono:  |

:D OH and that traction problem... yeah, being able to adjust both bound and rebound will go a long way to get all that wonderful power to the road. Pete has already sent me like 3 different sets of setting to help me beat Randy's ..... Yeah uhm to get the most out of my car... :D Quote:
Dude after reading that I went back and made sure I got my upper perches in their stock locations... And if you get the adjustable endlinks you can really balance the car nicely. From what Pete was telling me... they figured out the ride height setting for each corner also... :iono: I think he and LPE worked on it... And you can do it all at the track... or before you go to the track if you have DR's that you don't drive on every day... Jack the car up, take off the stock wheels, set bound stiffness, set rebound stiffness on all four coilovers, set the ride height to minimize chassis twist, slap the Dr's on and off to the track... then put it all back to stock when done. Totally worth the investment. :D Dude, your car will be so dialed in :headbang: Quote:
