V6 mod suggestions
I am not too familiar with car upgrades, but i am looking to start doing upgrades to my 2011 RS camaro, i am wondering if someone can give me some suggestions as to what i should try to start with. I have been told air intake and exhaust are good foundations, however i would like some further help. Thanks everyone!

I think that's where the majority here have started. I'm assuming you are talking strickly performance for now? There are a couple of great stickys on the top of this page that you should go through. After that, come back and ask some more specific questions, because what you are asking for is very broad. lol

Twin turbo it now.

Yeah i know its very broad, but do you have any suggestions as to what my first upgrade or two should be? Like intake, headers, ect. thanks!
|
depends on what your end goal is. if you plan on going forced induction, i wouldn't waste money on those because you're more than likely going to have to replace them. If you plan on going all motor, then yes, intake/exhaust/headers is a great place to start. doesn't matter which order you get them in, or all at once. :D

PoorMan is correct...if your thinking FI, just wait and save up. If not, well then those three things he listed are pretty much the core of the performance bolt on options we have for the V6 so far. If that is your route, then I say go intake first for performance, exhaust will help but its more for sound then anything.
|
Alright so go for air intake first? Any recommendations for a good one that is not crazy expensive? And also, what does force induction mean? sorry, still new to these things! i appreciate all your help!

Examples of Forced Induction, or FI for short, would be Turbo Chargers, Super Chargers, and Nitrous. As for intake, go with Injen's true CAI. Great sound, great power. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4us1AfiVlJM |
thank you very much! appreciate your help!

Take a look at my build. This will give you some ideas for cosmetic changes, performance ideas, and even some better handling. I have been trying to balance all 3 categories, and create a very well balanced Camaro. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77861 |
I would estimate over 1/3 of our customers say our CAI system is the only performance mod on their list. When it's not the only thing on the list, it's generally the first thing followed by exhaust.
The Roto-fab intake system installs easily with absolutely no modifications to your car-no cutting, drilling or re-locating anything. Our customers notice a good increase in performance and the sound is awesome. Your Camaro will sound and perform like a Camaro should! You can choose from a variety of air box colors and we have dry or oil filters available. If you have any questions, please send a pm and we will answer quickly. http://roto-fab.com/images/camaro_v6...ilter_4hm5.jpg http://roto-fab.com/images/v6_cai_cf_elbow_356d.jpg http://roto-fab.com/images/v6_black_box.jpg http://roto-fab.com/images/img_1034_54xi.jpg |
CAI - easy, affordable, looks and sounds better than stock. Check out Roto-Fab's product, they were great to order from. Well made product.

Look CAI inc intake too. Think about an oil catch can too.
