tach

I have a 1979 z-28 with 15,000 miles and the tach quit.Is there a fuse or after 34 years did it let me down. help:noidea:

I only know my '68 to that level of detail. It has a Pink power wire to the cluster. It powers the tach (or fuel gauge), Fuel warning (or GEN light), and e-brake (and Oil light. It depends on gauges installed). So, maybe there is one for yours? It is the Gauges fuse in '68s.

The only fuse I see on the wiring diagrams effects all gauges.

Have you checked the connection to the distributor? That's where my problem was the last time mine stopped working.

The distribution is where I would look but it could also be a ground or connection on the gauge cluster circuit board that finally cracked and created an open.

Man, they still have circuit "boards" in '79??? Crud!
