tach
I have a 1979 z-28 with 15,000 miles and the tach quit.Is there a fuse or after 34 years did it let me down. help:noidea:

I only know my '68 to that level of detail. It has a Pink power wire to the cluster. It powers the tach (or fuel gauge), Fuel warning (or GEN light), and e-brake (and Oil light. It depends on gauges installed). So, maybe there is one for yours? It is the Gauges fuse in '68s.

The only fuse I see on the wiring diagrams effects all gauges.
Have you checked the connection to the distributor? That's where my problem was the last time mine stopped working. |
The distribution is where I would look but it could also be a ground or connection on the gauge cluster circuit board that finally cracked and created an open.

Man, they still have circuit "boards" in '79??? Crud!

tach
finally found a tach. 30 bucks on ebay and like new. Now back to 100%.After 34 years it still like the day I pick it up.
