Has anyone bolted up a pair of slicks and let her rip down the drag strip?
I'd be interested in seeing the numbers and knowing if you left the rear axles at the stating line. On a stock car.
I've got to imagine a low 11 maybe even high 10 1/4 with full throttle launch and full traction. |
Al O. from GM has said before in videos, that they have two engineers who's sole task is to see if they can break the axles or the diff, and so far they haven't broken either of them yet.

Seriously. Ive seen 11.7 on stock tires posted. Never seen a number posted from a stock car and full slicks. Just curious. I would imagine a few tenths at least from slicks.

BUT, have they ever thrown a set of slicks on the car? |

Hey all,,,,haven't got enought miles on my "Z" to track yet but I bought a 2007 GT500 recently with very few miles....could not for the life of me get it to hook on the street tires so started in 2nd and ran a 12.41 and trapped @ 127.31.....any idea what that trap might translate to if I could get some traction? Just bought a set of drag radials but haven't had a chance to put them on yet.....I really want to get a time on this car so I can compare to my ZL1....
And no I don't like the Shelby more than my Z...:chevy:.... Scott... |

Put a new supercharger and headers on it....car has just over 2000 miles on it and is quite the mover...have been amazed what some small changes have done...still need to get the "Z" to the track though.....
