Simple 1LE Tire Pressure Question
 

Very simply, what tire pressure do you set you 1LE tires at when cold for daily driving.?

Door jam says 32/32. Owners manual says 44psi for speeds over 100mph.

I do have experience setting up cars.....just curious what everyone else is doing with these for daily driving

FYI This is 1LE specific and not even ZL1 with the same wheels because it is 300lbs heavier, different suspension, different rear tires....

I'm running 32 front and 32 in the rear.

Mine was delivered at 31. Same range as any other street car/tire I've owned. Typical street tire pressure is 30 - 35. Aside from track use, this car/tire is no different.

I shoot for 32.

Need some clarification. I have run my 1LE six track days so far this year. I have never started the tire pressure off at 44 psi cold. The track I ran was a clockwise rotation and the left front gains 3 psi more than the rears. The air temp was in the 30's in March and in the high 50's in April. The rears had 30 psi at cold and after the 25 minute sessions had 36 psi. If anyone has run these tires at 44 psi cold on a road course I would like to hear the hot psi readings.

I was under the impression that the only advantage to running high pressures for high speeds was to reduce rolling resistance due to a smaller contact patch. I'm not exactly a physics expert, but wouldn't this just make it easier/faster 0-100mph? Is there any other advantage to high pressures as opposed to standard 32-35psi for high speed operation?

I am running 32 cold as well, and will start at about 38 cold next weekend when she hits the track.

Yes, lots of factors can go into setting the air pressure at the track, this was simply a daily driving psi question.

I run mine at 30 psi cold. It goes up to about 33 with mixed driving ie. city/highway. If I do a 100+ mph blast I don't think twice about my tire pressure. If I was going to do a top speed run at an event I would bump up the psi. I'd research what to psi use.


The car came with roughly 36 psi or 38 psi and it felt like a frigging stage coach.
