Magnaflow exhaust

I'm very interested in the magnaflow 3 inch comp cat back exaust. I see a lot of people though that have this exhaust and the tips aren't centered up with the opening or the tips stick out to far. Is anyone having fitment issues or are people just not taking time on the install to make sure everything is perfect.

Mine fit fine, you have to spend a little time aligning it all, so some guys don't do that. Just know, it'll be way loud if you aren't expecting it.

Isn't it pretty quiete at idle but really loud once you get in it?

Mine fits just fine. It's quiet at idle and doesn't get loud until you get on it. The tips also do not stick out very far at all. Maybe slightly more than stock tips.

That's exactly what I want. Not to loud until you get in it and I'm glad the fitment is really good.

Tip alignment is more on the install side. Make sure you line everything up before you tighten everything up. That way you can get the tips where you need them. Magnaflow comp series is a pretty aggressive catback though. With the stock manifolds and cats in place it won't get over the top loud. But, if you add headers down the road this system can wake the neighbors!

Yeah, if you get headers look out. Doesn't sound like daveagogo has headers, because it is loud at idle, cruise, wot, the works. Here's mine:

Nope on the headers. I have headers in the garage going on soon. A buddy of mine has the exact setup i will. Stainless Works headers, no cats and the 3" Magnaflow. I don't personally think it's that loud at idle on his. Then again i like LOUD so might just be me lol.

Its a good idea to have a helper to hold the tips while you align and then tighten that way thy dont move on you

I just put the cat back Magnaflow comp series on mine - fit was perfect, tips lined up fairly easily with only minor tweaking.
As for the sound, I have the stock manifolds still with cats, and it has a nice sound. not too loud, but you can definitely hear it now. I think that headers with no cats may be too much, but I am probably going to take a shot at that in the future.

The 3" Magnaflow Comp series isn't too loud. It is loud, but in a different way than the 2.5" comp series. The 3" system has more bass to its tone than actually being loud IMO. It is a great sounding exhaust system.

As for the tips aligning, I agree with others, its all in the install. Take your time and have a friend help you and you should have no problem getting them lined up properly.

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions or pricing.

Thats what im lookin to get, just cant decide on the 2.5 or 3 inch, just lookin at putting headers on and tuning it, already have the cai. Any advice? would the 3 inch be a waste or inefficiant?

Either way you go the connection point to the cats is 2 1/2 even on the 3" system.

The 2 1/2" has less clearance issues. I have the 3" I ended up needing a new tunnel brace, some heat shield bending and had to reroute the aluminum tranny vent line as it was barely clearing between the pipe and heatshield rear of the cross member.

99.9% of rattles are gone but, Still today when it rains i get brief rattles from the cold water hitting the hot pipes and expanding back and forth Tone changes dramatically in the rain as well.

It's really not going to make much difference in performance, but the sound is the biggest difference between the 2.5" vs 3". I personally prefer the tone of the 3" over the 2.5". Have you been listening to sound clips comparing them?
