Built LVL 5 A6 Transmissions

Anyone put in a built A6 Transmission yet with a TC?

Wondering what is available out there to hold big power.

Someone put a 3600 yank in the stock transmission, its around here somewhere. He said it was the best mod he did to his car.

Yeah, I am familiar with TC's. Looking to see if anyone is building them up yet such as Finish Line Transmissions.

How much hp/torque will the stock trannie take?

To my knowledge there is no such thing yet. There are converters and upgraded clutches, but there is no "built" transmission with completely upgraded "guts" like FLT and RPM have offered with the 4L60-80 tranny's. I have talked with RPM a number of times on this over the course of the last 18 months, and the last time I spoke with them (1 month or so ago), upgraded clutches were it. They had put them in a 800rwhp car, which had about 4K miles on it...they removed the tranny to assess wear, and the clutches "did" show wear at that power level. No one really knows "for sure" the limits of the stock 6L80 at "X" power level. Your rwhp/rwtq, driving/racing habits, and how much heat the tranny see's will undoubtedly dictate how long the tranny will function normally...

So, if your someone with a L99, cam, CAI, exhaust, TVS blower, and so forth (Hypothetically of course ) , what would you do to the trans to ensure it was up to the task? Are you considering clutches, or a converter, or just programing changes? And what sort of programming changes are working?

Here are some runs on stock tranny that I hope exemplify the strength of it in stock form....

I am thinking converter at some point, but I really hope the tranny holds out until a more formitable tranny upgrade option exists (from RPM or FLT).

I'm sure the stocker with some basic modifications will hold a normal H/C/I car. Guess we all just have to wait a bit for an upgraded trans that can handle 1.5 and 1.4 60's with 600+rwtq or hits form the bottle.

As you know there is a big difference in street driving a car that makes big power and dead hooking a car that makes big power at the track.
