want to do cam but worried about too loud
 

Hello, i currently have Npp catback, HFC, and texas speed 1/7 8 long tube headers.
it sounds amazing. i can get away with driving it slow in my apartment complex in 2nd gear sounds pretty tame. when i get on it. it is not too bad inside the car, but i know on the outside it is insanely loud. i would like to do a cam soon, but worried about being too loud/disrupting the peace or neighbors. i know its going to make people upset. last thing i want is neighbors keying my car or something. Anyways is there any cams that are tone with decent lope and with good performance gains that do not increase volume too much?

Look at the Howards LSA hot cam - people have posted it on here a number of times and one member has some youtube videos of cold start and idle. I was in the same boat as you and will likely be going this route. Seems to add the nice idle and tone, without blowing peoples ears off. Also seems to have added nice power for a member on here, if I recall corrects he was FBO with this cam and went 482 HP on dyno

Have you considered not getting on the gas in your apt complex? :) Initial startup can't be helped, but after that you should be able to be pretty stealthy.

Lived in an apartment in Tampa and the. St Pete for three years with a cam. Just do it. Buddy had car with cam louder than mine in same complex in st Pete.

No F in way a dyno of 482 with the hot cam its lame...sorry but I call B. - that's more a night fury area of a honest even high dyno from a dyno jet non load bearing even..... no one goes for the hot cam its rated 480 stock at the flywheel the better choice is the ASA with 525 flywheel and more lope and duration which comes in the varied engines you can buy crate just like the "Hot Cam", frankly your engine noise will be what it is don't base the cam on sound that's just wrong..................talk to vendors like Cammotion and learn...

If you don't hammer on it, I don't think it's going to be much louder....

Totally right about it being the ASA cam and not the hot cam. I did more reading about it after lunch and after my initial post. Im pretty sure that guy was a forum member, ill see if i Can find his posts with the dyno sheet.

I have the mast SS cam. Arh long tubes, hf cats and atak... Very loud. To much for leaving early to go to work in my neighborhood. Considering a different catback
