Longtube and p1151 p1153

Hi guys I'm getting p1151 and 1153 with kooks longtube. After reading here I know a need to tune them out. My question is what is a good option for a tuner? And who to have tune? I know they can just send the file now and I can upload correct? Thanks any help is appreciated.

Get with DynoSteve at the RDP Store on here and buy the hand held SCT X4 from him. Tell him all the boltons you have including the headers and he will make the adjustments you need. He will tune out the rear O2 sensors along with a bunch of other things.

Nothing against Steve, but if you’re gonna spend money on a tuning device, I would suggest buying HP Tuners MPVI Pro. Tuning out codes and such is super easy and the diagnostic tools it comes with are absolutely priceless. Im sure Steve could still whip you up a tune for HP Tuners, if you dont feel comfy at first.

It will be more expensive, but you get what you pay for. That sct flasher thing..... eeeh.

I’ll admit, I’m biased because i have HP Tuners pro, but the SCT X4 is more like a flashing device, where you can upload tunes and do some datogging. Dont get me wrong, it might be perfect for what you need. It all depends on your long term goals with the car. If you just want headers and an intake, then its perfect. If you’re an addict, and you’re gonna keep changing shit, then buy the full tuning package of your choice. SCT has good stuff, EFI live does too. HP Tuners in my opion is the best one for GM enthusiasts. They have a forum and a repository of shared tunes.

Good luck bud.
