seat replacement
 

Has anyone out there replaced the stock SS seats? I wish I had recaros but the cost is outrageous.

Looking for options.

I replaced my 2ss leather/ heat stock seats with oem recaros in my 1LE. Only way to go unless you want an airbag light. I’ve read that there is way to wire up a resistor to trick the air bag system, but I can’t remember how or what to wire.

Did you buy new Recaro seats or did you find some out of another car? What do they go for?

I did the same thing. I had the 2SS seats and I was able to find a great deal for the OEM Recaro powered seats and it was basically a swap. But those seats are worth it and they are better than the aftermarket option that will have the airbag light on all the time IMO.

I got them out of another car. They plugged right in no air bag light. Got them for $2650 with shipping and sold my stock seats for $700, so I’m in it just under $2k total. Still a lot of money but i feel like the seats make the car. Brings the whole 1LE package together imo.

Agreed completely, i looked at aftermarket options and really didn’t want to see the dang air bag light every time i turned my car on, so i decided to spend the extra cash on the oem ones. The recaros i got came from a 1SS so they’re full power on both sides but no heat unfortunately, but I’m in the swap for $1950 total so i really cannot complain.

Nice. I would do that in a heartbeat. I've toyed with aftermarket seats but that creates a whole other can of worms, I love the Recaros.

The seats are the best investment that I have done with this car.
I am glad that I did not spend that much on my seats.
I did it with $1K and traded in my seats.
