Borla vs. Magnaflow cat back exhaust systems
I am doing my homework on exhaust systems for my LS3. I would like to know if anyone has any preferences between the Magnaflow Comp and the Borla catback systems regarding sound quality and performance. I am also considering going with a set of JBA shorty headers as part of the installation. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I went with the SOLO MACH X Cat Back. The Mach X Resonator is superb, and at $750 shipped to your door, you cannot go wrong.
CHeck out the feedback on here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42318 |

Borlas prolly gna sound better but the magnaflow comp series is gna be alot louder

Borla is made with T-304 Stainless while Magna is made with T-409

The Borla will be a bit louder and more agressive sounding than the magnaflow kit. Both kits are great in craftsman ship. Also check out Borla's headers that they make for the 2010 Camaro.

Sorry I thaught you guys were talking about the magnaflow catback vs the borla S type.

I now have the Magnaflow on my car. It is indeed quite but deep. I have borla on my '02 Z06 it is louder indeed. Preference going to the magnaflow because the deepness.

if you go with borla, you have to get the long tube headers they make also. IT SOUNDS BAD ASS!!!!!they work perfectly together.remember borla catback is only 2 1/2" pipe for the catback. so the headers work perfect with it. if you do a header with a 3" collector, you will need to do some modifications to fit with the 2 1/2" borla catback. i have it on mine and i love the sound.

oh yeah one more thing.....videos do NOT do these exhaust system justice. i dont know why people post videos. you get no real sense of how it actually is.

I have the Borla Stinger on my car, and it sounds about perfect IMO.

i started out with the magnaflow 3"comp series, nice deep sound, comfortable on the long drive, no drone, yet aggressive when you got on it. then i added dynatech's supermaxx long tubes with there hi-flow cats 3"in/3"out, and magna flow prototyped a mid section pipe (available soon) to make it a true 3" system from collectors back, looks extremely clean, like s/s art and it has that classic musclecar sound, it sounds absolutely incredible.
if you want to meet up sometime pm me, i'm moving to laguna hills at the end of the month and i usually show up to the fuddruckers cruise night at least once a month. |

I got magnaflow and its awesome ... perfect price ,perfect fit, and good power.. put 3 others on buddies cars too and they love it also.. don't have exp w borla....:sm0::laughabove:

I would go with the Magnaflow system myself. Magnaflow is made in the USA and it carries a lifetime warranty. It is 409 stainless which is honestly better for exhaust as it isn't as brittle over time as the 309 does. In terms of value and quality you can go wrong with Magnaflow!! :headbang:

^^^ i agree with JDP 100%. Magnaflow > Borla. Borla is cool but the new Magnaflow CamaroSS 3" catback exhaust with x-pipe is top notch
