Cammed 1le vs 09 GTR
 

What do you guys think? Some guy swears his 09 GTR would walk anything. He's stock and wants a 30 roll. I have some weight reduction and make 475rwhp mustang dyno.

Do I have a chance?

Depends.

From a dig, he's got you.
From a roll, I still think it's in his favor. Because the GTR first gear is very very quick and will get up to speed even from just rolling at 30.

It'll be interesting to see, I haven't gone agaisnt a Camaro as I'm a road track guy but I have pulled on a few C7 Z06s on track from a roll out of a corner onto the straight (it's different in straight drag/roll racing)

He doesn't sound like the best, the GTR can be beat, mainly by certain bikes (ask me how I know :lol: but some cars can now too). All depends, plus a ton of them are not stock, even the biggest builds look stock. So just watch out if he just claims he is 'stock'.

You're gonna need forced induction and drag slicks to keep up with Godzilla. Sorry, man. As much as I want to dig on a Nissan, he's got you.

A stock gtr will hand your cammed 1le its *ss. Roll/dig.. doesn't matter

I have a D1 Procharged SS @ 11lbs, BTR cam, Full exhaust, MT drag radials and some other bolt on's and am still nervous of any GTR.

Not sure where you need to be to be 100% confident you could take most GTR's, even the level 1 modded one's........

You got him beat. I'd say a car or car and half. Don't let people scare you on this one. Where are you at in 1st or 2nd gear at 30mph. That is something to think about. You better be in your power band at the beginning of this race.

I raced a stock 14 a few weeks back from a 40 roll starting in 1st gear around 5k rpm. Beat him by half a car and the 14 has more power than the 09. Add your gearing being even better than mine with your 3.91 to my 3.45 and I say you'd beat the newer stock GTR's pretty easy as well.

Don't ever give a GTR the race from a dig or you can forget it. But you stand a good chance on this one if you don't miss any gears. Also don't ever assume a GTR is stock (especially older ones). They rarely are. I only knew the one I raced was because the kid just got the car a couple weeks prior and it hadn't been to the shop yet.

So many people buying into the GTR hype... lol. This is an 09 GTR, meaning its about 100bhp shy of the 2012+ ones, and is a sub-120mph car. It should be a good run, but the Camaro should no doubt have him from a roll with the GTR probably edging him out from a dig. Even the '12+ GTRs would be a fairly close race. They aren't unbeatable guys, especially in stock form. Laughable that people think forced induction is necessary to beat a stock one.

Yes the '14s have more power but the gearing is different on the '09s and they pull harder from a dig. Not really needed in this case but just putting that out there. Overall the fastest ones stock are '12s.

Not from hype, but I own one, but these are the rated power stats:

2009s were rated at 480hp
2012s were rated at 530hp

That's 50hp not 100hp, the only difference is slightly bigger turbo piping, intakes, and exhaust piping.

I stand corrected, I had it in my head that the 12+ models are at 560-580 or something like that but it had been a while since I looked at the numbers.

All good. Yeah they slowly made changes with each MY, but the '12s are the fastest stock, with the '15s being soft in the suspension area.

13-15: 545hp
15-16 Nismo: 600hp

Man, I feel the same exact way. I'll race anyone but those GT-R's are no joke

When I was at around 550 at the wheels I was about dead even with my buddy's 14 GTR from a 40 roll. They are no joke. Not sure about the 09 model. From a dig... no chance.

I'll hopefully be seeing the guy today. I weighed my car and I'm at 3710. Wish me luck!

not sure who would win but I've been in a 2015 gtr and it turns into a dog in the upper gears.
