It looks so good. Are you planning on painting the wheels CGM with the IOM pinstripe. I would love to see that.

That's still the plan, along with IOM calipers. The hold up is getting the color matched powder from the supllier. I'm STILL waiting :mad0260:

This is an awesome looking IOM Camaro! Given me plenty of food for thought for mine! I love the look of the IOM and the CGM!

I knew there was a reason I chose CGM stripes, they look awesome on IOM! :)

Thanks! I was looking at IOM with white or black stripes...but the CGM looked too damn good against the IOM to pass up!

Orange Bee is currently sick and in the care of the local GM dealership.

He's suffering from clutch pedal stuck to the floor syndrom :mad0260:

Oh man...why do you have to be so mean?! How did it happen?

Car looks awesome by the way!

Thanks for the compliment!

Car had been fine for over 5,000 miles....then I launched the car at around 3200 RPM and the pedal stuck to the floor :mad0260:

Got the pedal back up, drove a bit and it was fine. Tried another hole shot and once again it stuck to the floor :iono:

So I figured before the cam goes in and they try to blame that, I better get the issue resolved. Hopefully by next week I'll have more answers!

That sucks. Did you let the clutch out fast or too slow? I think I read somewhere if u use the launch control and let the clutch too slow this happens.

I know what you mean...some dealers will find anything to blame it on.

What cam are you going with? I plan on doing the same to mine in the near future. I'm looking for a nice lope but nothing too drastic that it will affect low speed drivability.

I let it out like I usually do...oddly enough the first thing the service manager asked me is if I was using launch control at the time. The pedal on the floor seems pretty common with these cars, looks like somewhere along the line a change was made in multiple parts in the clutch family. Stay tuned!

I was wrestling with 2 cam choices...big ( 232/242 .601/.610 @ 114+2 ) or small ( 228/240 .571/.590 on a 113 ). I was going small, then changed my mind...as long as Comp hasn't cut the cam yet I'll be installing the larger of the 2. Seems as if the smaller one should pick up 40 RWHP and the larger one around 60 RWHP.

Once the clutch mess is sorted out, I'll be moving forward with more info on the cam swap.

Picking the car up in the morning....dealership says he's all fixed up.

Details to follow soon

Huggerorange73 08-04-2010 02:44 PM

Okay, got the car back today....repair order states the pressure plate was changed, along with bleeding the clutch.

The difference in where the clutch engages and the firmness of the pedal is incredible. This is how it should have been from the word go!!!!

Cam is slated to go in on August 23rd, I called Comp to change over to the larger of the 2 grinds I had selected but the smaller ( 228/240 .571/.590 on a 113 LSA ) of the two had already been cut.

I'll keep everyone posted on dyno results as soon as it's all wrapped up.

I'm hoping to see tween 450-460 RWHP...stay tuned

Cam goes in on Monday the 22nd...so I figured I'd take the car out to the local strip to see what it would turn as is.

Best pass I could get out of it was 13.1 @ 109, tossed the keys to my buddy and he squeezed out a 12.9 @ 111.

First 60' take some work....I'm sure it'll be even more fun post cam sawp!

Any updates with the cam??

Had a scheduling snafu with the shop....dropped the car off Monday, but a couple of the crew were ill, so they got behind. All of the mechanical aspects of the swap are complete...car just needs to be be tuned. However, because of the backlog caused by the sick guys, car can't hit the rollers until Tuesday.

So, check back in late Tues for dyno sheets and video clips!

Huggerorange73 08-30-2010 10:04 PM

File this one under the learn something new everyday file...

The single bolt on the cam is a torque to yield bolt....as soon as the dealer gets my bolt in, this loooooooooong install will finally be over.
