Is this engine salvageable?

Hello, I'm not very familiar with Camaros, so I'm not sure how far back the engine sits. Is this engine salvageable, or is there just too much damage?

Whoa ! That hood's shaped just like a taco shell. I couldn't say for sure, but I wouldn't have high hopes.

Idk. Cause it looks like the crank might have been hit pretty hard and being the engine is aluminum it could have cracks. Just know if isn't cracked or the crank isn't shoved back that you will more than likely have to replace the intake, timing cover, and oil pan among all of the other things like accessories etc. If it was me I would give it a shot just because I'm that kind of guy.

…oak tree, you're in my way…. You won’t know what you’ve got till you start tearing into it. Personally, it don’t look promising.

Guessing its no good. It for sure made contact with the crank. Depending on what you are trying to do here, I would walk away

Can you say: Toast

Stay clear from this one!!! I'm sure as mentioned the crank has taken a hit and wouldn't trust it for anything. There are more engines out there to be had..

pass on this one bud. Just like all the others have said... doubtful that motor survived without ANY damage

That engine is substantially farther back than it should be. Look at that front subframe. Also, the radiator is nearly pressing against the throttle body, which itself looks fairly far back. It looks as if half the engine is under the cowl now.

That poor car.

No it’s not salvageable. That engine is toast. I wouldn’t waste my time. Walk away.

I hit that with the Adams correcting polish for about 7 hours and it came out.
