I wonder if Holley re-designed what I will call their mid-ram to fit under lower hoods?

Bolding220 11-02-2015 07:01 PM

Not sure but look forward to seeing more on this. It looks to lower than the Hi rise but closer to the mid rise height

I just want an intake that gives power gains, is it that hard to ask? :(....

I hear you. Looks like this one will give you more power up high but lose torque down low. I guess we will have to wait for some dyno numbers.

I don't mind that lol
If it's nitrous friendly

Been hearing that Holley bought our MSD or maybe it was vise versa....
Either way maybe they can come up with a combined effort for an intake manifold gain for the LS3.

I don't think we'll see to many manifolds that will produce big gains except for specific rpm ranges, reason being the stock manifolds and for that matter, heads , flow very good and are designed to work together.

Basically a knock off of the PMC intake, that has been amazing for past 3-4 years. Hopefully it clears the cowl.

There are plenty of intakes out now that make plenty of power, they just aren't cheap or designed for street cars. PMC intakes have made a ton, Hogan, and others.

Bolding220 11-03-2015 07:40 PM

Damn that PMC is pricey!

Unreal 11-04-2015 06:20 AM

Thats is by far the cheapest nice sheet metal intake out there. The hogan/marcella/etc are $1000+ more than PMC.

You pay to play. There are a lot of nice intakes out there, just most people don't want to pay what they cost and hope for something cheaper to come out, but that doesn't mean there isn't good intake that work out there.

Hopefully the holley fits, is priced right, and makes power.

It's clearance, too. I'd consider plenty of other options if they'd just clear my stock hood. I don't want to be forced to get some unsightly cowl hood just to fit a decent intake manifold. If my only options are a FAST and a ported stock that'll clear the stock hood, then so be it but, it doesn't stop me from wanting another alternative.

Unreal 11-04-2015 07:40 AM

PMC clears stock hood. Hell it clears stock hood on a vette. Got 3 friends running them, all in the 1400-1600rwhp range.

There is no knocking off going on here. There have been custom LS intake solutions on the market since the early 2000s.
