UPDATE:

After Owen replaced the incorrectly installed rear main seal, low and behold.. what did they find???

The driveshaft was one bolt down... is it bad that I am not surprised that the other shop forgot to put in all the bolts

wow , from what it sounds you handled it alot better than alot of folks would have. When it comes to building peoples Engines , i feel its just as Important as surgery on your heart. One wrong .030 or missing suture and its curtains. Glad to see your car is on the road to recovery +
