Well guys! This is my introduction! I'll keep it short.
I am 25, located in Little Rock, AR! Name is Nate! I've owned a few toys! FBO 2011 Audi S4, 2013 Sierra lifted 10" on 24x14's, 2 different FBO + tuned 370Z's , 2013 5.0 Mustang, and 3 bikes 2009 ZX6R, 2009 R6 and 2013 fully built R1 drag bike! So adrenaline and fast vehicles are nothing new to me! I've always wanted a ZL1 and I'm finally happy to say!I a m the owner of 2015 ZL1 A6. I take delivery of the car this Saturday Feb 22nd! I will keep y'all posted with my mods ! Below is a list of mods I plan to buy and get tuned! Feel free to drop any opinions on my mods list or anything I might be over looking or things I might not need I have listed! :w00t: - Texas speed 1 7/8" headers, Corsa cat back, Roto fab intake, 160* thermostat, 850cc injectors, JLT oil catch can, 10" lower ATI pulley w/ harmonic balancer relocation bracket 63mm idler pulley and 71.5" green gates belt, AFCO dual pass/dual fan HX, reinforced inter-cooler brick, NGK TR7IX, roto fab SC inter-cooler coolant reservoir! :D |
only things I would change is, the oil catch can mighty mouse or elite can. plus 1000cc injectors or bigger. spend the money once for future mods.

Agreed on the injectors- get 1000cc at least, probably 1300. Along the same lines, one thing you are missing is a BAP. Your fuel pump will need help feeding that 10" overdrive. Also, I'd step up to 2" headers since you're doing it from scratch. If you ever decide to get up into the 750+ range, the 1-7/8" will hold back some ponies. One test I saw showed a 30 rwhp increase going from 1-7/8" to 2" on a car that was originally around 830hp. |

He said I'd only need new FP or BAP and 1300cc injectors with e85. Currently I plan to stick with 93. Or was your response just directed towards me going e85? Sorry made that confusing lol Quote:

Also one random question guys! The car I'm buying has 39k on it. Supercharger was replaced at 35k due to isolator recall. Comes with all paperwork! But did the replacement superchargers come with a solid isolator or just another SC with spring isolator? Needing to know if I should add solid isolator to the mod list? I don't want the marble noises HAHA!

What RobZl1 and I are saying is if you are thinking of going for more just do it now on what parts you get. 1300 injectors don't cost much more than 1050s, bigger headers... don't buy a boost a pump then fuel pumps. Just tryin' to save you money and extra work. Get a firm idea what hp and e85 or no before you start. Yes I'd go E85, I did, if that was a question, and I don't disagree at all with what GPI or above said. Your supercharger should be good to go, It's unclear to me even on replacements if they put solids then went back to spring loaded with grease, I wouldn't worry about it until if it makes noise unless you already have it apart. |

I know obviously dual 450 FP and 1300CC if I plan on going e85 but I really just don't know if I will. I know it'll help cooling and more power. I guess I gotta flip the coin on it. Is there anything else needed besides dual 450 FP's, 1300cc injectors and flex fuel kit? |

I will argue that you DO need a BAP, though, even on 93. You can technically run without it, but your fuel pressure will fall to the low 40's or high 30's at the top of the RPM band. The ECM will compensate with injector pulsewidth so you don't go lean, but you will lose atomization and power (as well as pushing injector pulsewidth closer to the maximum). Much better to have a constant 65 psi at 5000+ rpm as opposed to a pressure that falls down to 40-ish. |
A lot of great advice above. Your choice of build is on my dream list except I have the ID1050 & 2" headers w/o cats on my list..LOL.
The only thing I would suggest that has not been mentioned is to change the rear diff fluid, unless it is documented when it was last done. Especially if you are going to be 1/4 mile dragging.. Great looking car! Congrats! |
Nice car and congrats! Welcome to the tribe here. You can already see the guys have been helping you with decisions for your car and you cannot ask for a better group than right here. I have a question though. I was under the assumption that after GM had so much trouble with the isolators on the 12 -13 models they went to the solid ones in the 14-15 models. If that is right I wonder why they had to fix yours? Am I wrong? Somebody chime in here cause mine is a 15 and I need to know.
