so, once they fill all the pre-orders (14K - 16K) will they continue building them or will they stop all production? Sorry for the lame question...

I dont think they'll stop production, the car seems to be selling well.

Then why arent we seeing the Vin numbers that high yet? I know they have to be put into GM's system but that is a lot of cars not even accounted for,

Yes, they will keep building them. They can't sell them unless they are out there on dealers' lots for people to buy.

It probably takes some time for systems to get updated. Plus if that 6000+ number does include the dealer cars, then those won't get updated in the systems until they are assigned to a dealer.

The highest VIN known is 3634. The VINs we've found have always matched up to dealers getting VINs for their cars in dealerworld as well as the numbers said by the plant employees. I would believe the 4427 number if they were saying that was since SORP but the 6842 number seems too high. There's been 23 work days. With another 2 down due to not having steering pumps. So that's 21. Going off the 23 days that's 297 cars/day. And we know they started off at only 200 so they would have to be well over 300 currently. If you go off the 21 day figure, that's 326 cars per day. They would have to be building close to 400/day to make up for the 200/day early on. I'm thinking the numbers are off a bit. And is there a link? I don't see the story on their website...

Hmm let's see...multiply that number by about $30,000 and GM has over $200 million coming their way. Not bad. :chevy:
