My TandT rebuild!!!

3 Attachment(s)
A month ago my 2SS was hit parked in front of my home doing about 14K in damage and I almost $hit myself when it happened especially since Tim from TandT Performance had just put on a TVS-2300 and other supporting parts on a month earlier and was fearful his work was also destroyed, luckily it was not.

I sent Tim a text the morning it happened and he called me right away while he was out of town to find out what happened and to tell me to get it towed to his shop and he would have someone there to accept the car. What made it worse to coordinate was I was leaving for Vegas for a week the following day on business and had to worry about coordination of repairing my car with a shop and the other drivers insurance company so I just knew this was going to be areal PITA to deal with.

But Tim had it all under control. I told the insurance adjuster where the car was and to talk to Tim at TandT Performance. From there Tim took care of everything and advised me on every step of the rebuild and gave me advice on what he thought needed to be replaced. He made sure the adjuster accounted for every thing that was damaged down to the smallest scratch. I had some aftermarket parts that needed to be replaced like Peppers springs and sway bar on the front that was damaged, and one custom painted front caliper. Also want to give a big thanks to mikethepowdercoater for getting me a replacement custom painted caliper within a week of the request.

Three of my rims and one tire had to be replaced so instead of getting OEM rims again I contacted Mike at Best Wheels deals and picked out a wheel and tire package I wanted and once Mike confirmed they were in stock I advised Tim of what I wanted and he conferenced in Mike at BWD and myself and placed the order and Tim made the payment and had everything shipped to his shop, no fuss no worries, Tim worked with BWD and made it happened just the way I wanted. Also a big thanks to Mike at BWD for holding the wheels for me until we got back to him.

I had a bit of a fight with the insurance company over the use of a junked door on my car to replace the damaged door and they would not go for it. After talking it over with Tim we decided to get a new door instead of the repaired door the insurance company wanted to send. It cost me a little money but glad I got a new door instead of one filled with bondo or something from the junkyard. Again this was an instance where Tim's knowledge and advise really helped as I would have had no idea this was a used door if Tim had not advised me and warned me of the potential problem.

Once everything was sorted out with the insurance company Tim did his thing and put the car back together and it turned out great! Looks better than it did before it was hit and what else can a customer ask for. Got the car back a few days ago and very happy with the results. Gotta take it back this week to tie up a few loose ends, two parts were not in before I picked it up but no big deal.

All in all the work that Tim did from accepting the car while he was out of town, coordinating and being an advocate on my behalf with the insurance company, dealing with BWD on wheel order, providing shop for body work and painting and working we me and informing me constantly on every aspect of the work was impressive and much appreciated.

Below are the before and after pic, will update the after pics when I get back from vacation, this pic doesn't do the work justice. Thanks for your hard work and help Tim.

How did that driver crash into your car? Drunk or texting?

Oh snap that was your car eh? I have been doing some work on my car with Tim the past two weeks and talked to him about this car. Sucks that it has an accident on the Carfax report now but you did get a lot of nice upgrades as well. It defenitely helps to know someone in the business. I escorted your car to the painter by the way :headbang:

I am all black.

On Sunday my wife came to me and said "There is like this Camaro convention down the street. They are all so many different colors."

Well his story is he fell asleep on his way home from a late night shift. Hit me at about 5:30 am. Guy kind of freak out and pulled off when it first happen from what I understand. 5 min later guy came knocking on my neighbors door looking for owner. Actually seemed like a really good kid, only 23 so he did the right thing in the end. Didn't smell like alcohol or anything and seemed really shook up actually. Guy lives with his mom about a block from my house, he had insurance and $hit happens. :noidea:
