White steering column?

I just bought my 2015 1SS/1LE and as I was checking out the engine bay, I noticed the steering column is white. Is this common on our cars? How long has it been like this? Is it on the other models? if it is, this is the first time I've noticed it in the 3 years that I've been a constant fixture on this forum. :facepalm:

Went to a car show last night and saw the earlier models were black.

Had to go look and it is white, built in March 2014.

Mine is white also. I wonder if it's electric vs hydraulic steering related?

I have a 2013 (2SS, not a 1LE), and it's black, not white. If that helps..

Interesting. So far only 1LE's have the white steering column.
