Raise our voices!! We need a 2nd Blue in 2011!!

Im pissed off and worried right now!!

I loved Aqua Blue! But as usual Chevy axes the color after only one only year!! They've done this in the past with other cars Ive wanted. Then were only left with one Blue which is Imperial blue which I do not like.

At first I was not that worried because we were told that Hydo Blue would step in to replace Aqua Blue. Now I'm hearing rumors that Hydro Blue will not replace Aqua Blue!!!

Chevy needs to offer a second Blue !!! I wish I could have bought it in the first year but I could not, and I wont buy it in 2011 if there is not a Bright to medium Blue available!!!!

Please Chevy reconsider Hydro Blue or find another Blue or I wont be buying a Camaro in 2011 !!! Ill either buy a used Aqua Blue or a used c6.

Does any one agree?

brandotron 01-03-2010 06:13 PM

I concur. I would buy an Electron Blue Camaro.

Is IBM for sure heard they might pull it 2:iono:

Or, you could buy the car and paint it.... Most folks wants the car first, the paint is important, but not more important than the car....

BackinBlackSS/RS 01-03-2010 06:52 PM

They need HUGGER Orange.

It's not like the old days where you could paint the car and the door jambs and you were done. Now everything on the car is painted body color, inside, under hood, engine compartment, trunk, etc. It would be darn near impossible to paint a car today an entirely different color and have it look right.

daphatgrant 01-03-2010 07:06 PM

Dark green would be a cooler option.

stratman2SSRS 01-03-2010 07:08 PM

Color match the Transformers Bumblebee, and loose the rally yellow. I haven't seen one yet that all of the body panels match.

Stryker blue from the g8, or jetsream blue.

I 2nd the matte black finish. Chevy should come out with a like a ZL1 Camaro in matte black.

Matte White also looks really nice, like they did with the SL63 AMG Mercedes IWC edition.

MightyT 01-03-2010 08:49 PM

I think it's less about GM am more about sales. I thought I remember the blue having low sales numbers when reported here.

Don't get me wrong, I love the blue and once had one, but I think it's more than just someone in management saying kill the blue.

kutch720 01-03-2010 08:53 PM

I like the jetstream blue.

:word:

If they had offered this for the 2010MY then I'd be driving one in that color instead of Victory Red. This has always been my favorite GM blue.

Mr. Wyndham 01-03-2010 08:57 PM

The problem is that Oshawa has one paint shop, with a finite number of paint hoppers....and more cars are planned to be built at that plant in the future. Most of the colors they use need to be applicable across the board, and then each vehicle might get one or two model-specific colors...

I'm not trying to say a light blue will or will not happen...just something to think about.

nester7929 01-04-2010 02:04 AM

Never cared much for IBM. It's okay, but it can easily be mistaken for black. They need a brighter blue. Jetstream would be perfect.

Chevy needs a to offer a lighter blue, it looks great on the curves of the camaro

Booster 01-04-2010 03:03 AM

My dream colors for the Camaro are Sunrise Yellow first, and Jetstream Blue second...

IBM is staying around. Not sure why that rumor refuses to die.

I agree. The supposed synergy green that I heard is replacing ABM is too light in my opinion. If I would've known they were going to do this I would have also ordered mine in ABM long ago. For now guess I'll go with IBM with a twist.

Because I don't think it's fact. IBM has been out for years......it's kind of reached it's life-cycle. Keep in mind what goes on the Camaro mostly goes on the Impala too, same paint line.

Rogue Leader 01-04-2010 06:42 AM

Hated ABM... but a second non-ABM blue would be great

YenkoSC 01-04-2010 07:05 AM

I think Chevy should bring back Lemans Blue!

philipdistefano 01-04-2010 07:06 AM

Jetstream blue is an awesome color. I hope for the ABM fans that didn't get to order yet that it will be available for the Camaro.

cab2g 01-04-2010 07:52 AM

They definitely need another shade of blue. At the very least get rid of IBM and replace it with the blue used for the "Dusk" camaro prototype. And While I'm at it. Make the interior trim in the "Dusk" available as well. I love the color in the new Mustang. I'd love something similar in the Camaro.

classicrockr 01-04-2010 08:00 AM

Have to agree - my current car is a royal blue. The new Mustang blue is great & Jetstream Blue would be perfect!

I'm holding out for the HUD display & hoping they'll get another blue by then....

This is one of the dilemnas of new cars....
1. You could wait and buy the second year car. this lets the manufacturer find and fix any kinks before you get yours.
2. Buy one the first year, be one of the first to own something that will be more of a collector (because it is the first of a well sought car). Get the original color choices. And enjoy the car from the begining, instead of drooling over other people's cars.

Seems waiting only made it worse for the people that wanted the Aqua blue....

Love this color. Arrival Blue. Best blue GM has ever put out.

However, there does need to be some different colors offered.

coolman 01-04-2010 10:58 AM

I think they should offer many other colors like them or not. This would make them more rare. But, in the real world GM needs to make money and they need to keep colors that sell. I do think it's funny though that dodge it bringing back plum crazy , yellow , and that light blue. But, they don't ever seem to go with the flow. That might be why their're
in the mess their're in.

Rickie 01-04-2010 10:58 AM

We need another blue, but I'm afraid that we may not get it. With another blue to pick from, I wouldn't be fretting over what color I like next best.

a6pk2go 01-04-2010 11:04 AM

I got a ABM and I love the color. I don't care but I did vote for a lighter color. It just made my value go up IMHO due to them stop making the color. Regardless I plan on keeping it for a loooooooooooooong time. :happyanim:

TJ91 01-04-2010 01:09 PM

i thought Hydro Blue and Scottish Yellow was in the works for 2011

cosmobudman 01-04-2010 01:44 PM

Yep, they need a shade of blue that was on the 1st gens, and a shade of green from back then too while they're at it. The Arrival Blue, Jetstream Blue, and Synergy Green are just too gaudy to me.

KMPrenger 01-04-2010 04:19 PM

First off, I love my ABM as well. Only time I'm not as in love with it is when its in my low light garage and looks very dark green, but take her outside, and especially if theres sun, then shes absolutely gorgeous and not so entirely far off from some of the other blues Ive seen shown in this thread that people want. Its just more dynamic in different lighting than the others.

That said, Ive seen a Stryker blue G8 in person and it too was awsome and I'd definitely have my camaro in that if it was offered instead of ABM..

Pic below doesnt do it full justice according to my memory:

TJ91 01-04-2010 05:56 PM

Ive seen JSB immediately after seeing ABM, and honestly, ABM looked much better to me
