Thanks!

Gah! ... I dunno... that's why I posted the image I did and not the new one. I was waiting to see the finished product with paint to compare the two....

I think it will look good but I really wanted the original look... :iono:

So we'll see.

Seibon makes a hood something like that. I found it here.
http://www.kgsengineering.com/store/...iber-Hood.html

http://www.kgsengineering.com/store/...&bw=600&bh=600

However, it's carbon fiber. I don't care for carbon fiber and it doesn't hold up when painted.

And I found another one on ebay: link.

But then, it's ebay.

As of right now, I'm holding off to see what folks come up with for the ZL1. I'd like to get the ZL1 facia, but only if I can get a hood that will match the cowl "bump" on the facia. I don't really like the ZL1 hood.

GTAHVIT 01-25-2012 02:12 PM

right... forgot about that one..... I'm not that warm on the CF stuff... just doesn't fit for what I want to do...

Hmm... Might just keep the stock hood.... we'll see.

I'm with you 100% on that. I just don't like the look of carbon fiber.

A friend of mine is actually modifying his stock hood to look like the hood in the pic from ebay. It's actually a copy of the Leno "big chin" hood. He is a fabricator and painter by trade and he said it's taking a long long time to get it right. I was hoping into talking him into doing mine, but he is just too busy I think.

I have hated carbon fiber since I used to go to the king of all Ricer shows NOPI every year for 4 years in a row.

Carbon fiber is to Ricers like Primer is to Alabamians. :bellyroll:

Slow car is too slow.

Oops, sorry I meant to quote. It's ACS Composite's post, but not sure on the hood. It may be the stock hood, just modified from reading their post. Their post was in the DIY ZL1 hood thread.

The conclusion is the Zl1 bumper won't work with the stock hood or any of our current camaro hoods.... I guess we need to design new hoods for the ZL1 :-)

As expected all the mounting points are the same, fenders are perfect, the reinforcement is different...

The Keeper of the Grudge Race Lists would like some clarification. Does "BOTH of y'all!" include Dragoneye and GTAHVIT or Dragoneye and Pete?

Just sum it up with "All Ya'll"

It gets crazy when the ya'lls start flyin'.

There are so many races that I've made an Excel spreadsheet with race numbers. Excel doesn't recognize "Y'all" as an integer.

When people are looking for the staff at the fest they're gonna have to go to emma, "Hey, where can I find Joe?"

emma: "well, Joe and chris are #4 on the autox, Joe and Dug are #13 at the drag strip. So you can try and squeeze yourself in. Shall I put something in the book then?"
