How do you like your vert poll. 1 to 10

On a scale from 1 to 10. ( 10 being best .)
How do you like your convertible.

No rants or bragging just a number.

Not about the good points or bad points, just a number

Drago77 02-01-2012 08:41 PM

Why don't you add a poll to this... avoid long-winded answers you don't want????

SUX2BU 02-01-2012 08:52 PM

Needs to be a poll.
10! It will be bumped down to a 9 if they never fix the tops.

BLACKCAMARO2SS 02-01-2012 08:53 PM

9 Here 10 if it was a ZL1 vert. :sm0:

95birdible 02-01-2012 09:08 PM

The Car - 10

The quality issues I have had - 0

Overall - 5

Sorry I cannot give higher but the overall quality on mine just plain sucks.
I love the stares, pictures, going like a bat out of hell legally on the road with
a permagrin. But you guys know the story.

vanlieremead 02-01-2012 09:50 PM

10 for me

Drago77 02-01-2012 10:25 PM

Sorry OP- I know you asked for just a number...

But with all the bit@&en on this site about the top problems, how can you guys rate the car a 9-10/10?!?!?!?! A bit of an oxymoron no???? There's no asterisk in the question... if its a 10; then your satisfied and not worried about rub marks, broken bows etc... right?!?!?!:bs:

The question said to "rate your convertible". My convertible is as good as a $44k production car can be. It's not perfect and has issues just like any other production car. My rub marks aren't that bad anymore and if they don't fix my problem it will lose 10% of it's score. 10% is a lot to lose for one problem.

Really?

I've tried to be relatively quiet in my complaints about the top since there's nothing new lately; but (and maybe this is my own nievity being I've never purchased a new car before) but with all the hassle, drama and inconvenience I've personally gone through- including mine and others [aka "your"] "DIY" fixes on a brand new car, I feel a 10% reduction is far beyond gracious.

Quite honestly, I love the concept of the car- but with this particular issue, and the duration, given the opportunity, id have gone w a different car. Sad to say since this is my 3rd different Gen Camaro... but the quality has not lived up to my expectations of any new car, and I definitely do not see myself owning this particular vehicle 3 yrs down the road, despite my original intentions of passing it down to my daughter.

This is also my first new car purchase, my third Camaro (fourth "F body" car) and I definitely see myself keeping this car and passing it down to my son. Again, the question wasn't how do you rate all the convertible problems or how GM has handled said convertible problems. It was how you rate your individual car. I love my car and is by far my most favorite automobile I have ever owned. Remember this question is 100% opinion and completely subjective.

I guess I am a bit biased though, because I am used to working on cars and I knew I would/will always be tinkering/taking my car apart numerous times. So fixing small or major problems myself isn't really a big deal. After my top was replaced I knew GM didn't know what they were doing and took matters into my own hands. Since then my marks are more cosmetic than anything and I haven't had any leaking or 5th bow issues ever so I can't speak on those, other than GM needs to correctly fix the problems for people who do have them. Honestly I did my write ups more for other people who want to know what is going on with our tops since GM is keeping us in the dark.

D_Day 02-02-2012 12:41 AM

9, after 3 months and 1600mi. No major issues.

Kite31 02-02-2012 01:16 AM

9 Love it.

RJTV6A 02-02-2012 05:17 AM

Like a previous post said 9 if it were a ZL1 then it would be a 10

SSAINT 02-02-2012 05:19 AM

8-9

screamin eagle 02-02-2012 06:10 AM

Just a number????? I give mine a 10

'11 cyber grey vert 02-02-2012 06:38 AM

currently I would give my car a 9
if it develops some of the bow issues then a 4
as if GM does not get the tops correct there goes all the value in the car.

Big Kid 02-02-2012 07:10 AM

Best car I've ever owned.............9.9999

oswego16 02-02-2012 08:50 AM

8.5

Been in the shop for a body control module - 5 days

Brake sensor - 3 days

Now I've got a suspension issue right rear, havn't brought it in because can't go another week without her.

Love the car, hate my dealers service department.

Justification 02-02-2012 09:11 AM

7.
Handling: very good, but it's a heavy car so the 92 BMW 325i my son totaled last year handled the curves better.
Power, Verrrry nice. Could use a supercharger.
looks: Fantastic.
Electronics; Sweet stereo and hud, but why not a Nav system or hard drive to store music on? I understand other companies have that feature already. I like that there is a USB port, but why not a "real" mounting location for an iPod(phone, touch whatever)

I plan on keeping mine until I die, then let the kids fight it out.

Have not had any issues to date. Only 3 months old. Love the car.

I have had cars before that would get a thumbs up, but never a head turner like this one. :) People like this car and being a convertible, well you have to own one........................it's also my first 'vert. :)

78RS_to_112SS 02-02-2012 10:16 AM

I have barely driven it 10miles since I have it because of snow...

"9"

Feel great to own it...

Ok I am going to revise mine since I included all my problems. I would give it a 9. I don't think there is a car out there that would really get a 10. This car is as much fun if not funner than my old 69 SS Vert or my 68 RS/Z28. Man I loved those cars but my 2012 evokes those same feelings today.

llcamaro 02-02-2012 12:58 PM

9.9, since there is no such thing as a 10:D
I've had the car for 5 days and 380 miles, looking forward to many more of both!

Since mine is one of the trouble verts I will give it an 8.6754363 untill I get a permenant fix on my top then it goes to 9.975. Just because no car I did not design could be perfect.

Drago77 02-02-2012 05:08 PM

Having a hard time letting this one go…

Common sense says a scale of 1-10 is 10= absolutely perfect, wouldn’t change a thing, 5= average, not great, not horrible, 1= completely unacceptable.

For all the threads, and posts with people complaining about rub marks, indentations, broken bows, crackling window regulators, wind noise and lately, bad seals… how can you turn around and rate it a 10? Or even 9? Absolutely perfect?

If that’s the case, then I guess GM’s OK not fixing anything, since everyone’s apparently completely happy?

I say 7… and that is being gracious. I have more problems with my garaged, 11 month old 2SS vert, than I did with my 99 6 cyl T-Top Camaro that I bought used and which sat outside! I can see giving the “concept” of the car, or the driving experience of the car a high rating, but overall- not so much.

I’m looking into an even trade on a 10’ 370Z Touring vert right now…at 20 months old, it’s top looks better than my (latest) top at 6 months old!

'11 cyber grey vert 02-02-2012 05:32 PM

Drago ,
Agreed
I scored mine a 9 right now as I have not experienced the problems that some of the other vert owners have had to deal with.
I did indicate I would score it a 4 if it develops the serious problems since I believe alot of the value in the car will be lost with major top issues.

ZZTop-leSS 02-02-2012 06:00 PM

0.000000000001

Just because I'm so disappointed in these top issues. I, too, spent a lot of money on a brand new car and expected way better. Like others, this is also my first brand new car I've ever purchased and I'm 39 years old. I love the idea of the car and I'd probably give it a 9.5 or higher if I wasn't so upset about it breaking the first time I put the top down. At first, I was like, "Oh, well - crap happens. It's under warranty and I'll get it fixed." Yeah, well, after reading about all these people and their on-going issues and some of them are now on their 3rd, 4th, 5th replacement, I can't bring myself to rate it any higher than a "1". Sorry.
