FE1.....FE6?

Ok, so maybe this is a noob questions but what if the difference between all these FE suspension call outs?

FE2
FE3
FE4
FE6 (1LE?)

I have a 2013 2LT RS...so which do I have?

Thx

The V6 has FE2. As for the difference I know the major difference between FE2 and FE3 are the sway bars, Springs and struts. FE4 introduced the new outboard mounted rear sway bar and the FE6 has FE4 components with different Springs, Struts, and a few other parts.

I am sure someone else will chime in with things that I might have forgotten or got wrong.

By the lack of responses maybe I'm no the only one confused. lol

FE2=V6
FE3=2010-early 2012 SS
FE4=mid 2012 to current SS
FE5=ZL1
FE6=1LE

All FE 4/5/6 lower control arms are the same with outward mounting locations and the difference is the size of the front and rear sway bars, shocks/struts, and the ZL1 having mag ride.

Ah, thank you.

That clears it up! :)

FE6 also has stiffer cradle bushings that really help.

JDP,
Isn't the rear shock mounts for the 1LE stiffer to compliment the mono-tube shocks???

Yes, the FE6 has stiffer mounts in the back the P/Ns are (22922445, 22922446)

Also, I can find part numbers for the FE6 rear shocks but not the front? The only FE6 part numbers that I can find for the front is the strut/spring/mount combos (22812984, 22812985). Are the FE4 and FE6 front struts the same?

Not to change it around, but this is a good topic. Do all the verts have FE3? Or did they make a change after 2012?

The easiest way to see if you have an FE3 or FE4 is to look at your rear sway bar. If your end links mount to the lower control arms at a point that is inboard of the rear shocks/springs, you have FE3. If they are outboard of the shocks/springs, you have FE4.

So the FE2 is for all V6's no matter the year?? I have a 2015 2LT RS

RichCamaro10 05-13-2016 07:41 AM

I have confirmed that 22812984 and 22812985 are the P/Ns for the front struts and not the combos......
