Top speed on the autobahn (Germany)

I finally put the electronic governor to the test. At exactly 250 kph (155.3 mph) the car stops accelerating and something to the effect of "maximum allowable speed" flashes on the digital screen. I don’t remember exactly what it said as I was white knuckled and intently staring at the road in front of me;) My GPS said I reached 257 kph (159.7 mph). I do not know which is more accurate, but I go with the 257 kph since that extra 7 kph make me feel cooler;)

Kept it in 5th the entire time.

What's interesting to look at is your Tire Pressure before and after a run like that...try it!

Nope, but when I am just cruising at about 170 kph ( 105 mph) I get passed by BMW wagons driven by moms all the time;) Dead serious!

There was a slight left turn to the road and it handled it very well. Smooth, but the engine was roaring pretty good. I kept it in 5th gear the entire time. I have to be honest, I was so focused on the road that I did not notice much else. Most people drive the suggested speed 130 kph so I was passing cars while I was going almost twice their speed. If one of them pulled out to pass I would have been in trouble. Now that I did it once, I'll be more relaxed next time. On a side note, I was comming back from a trip to Switzerland and the guy riding in the passenger seat was sleeping and didnt wake up, so it must have been ok.

Yes, no noticable twitches, but the seal on the sunroof failed at about 240 kph and started whistling. No permanent damage though. My budy has a BMW 335 and my car felt way better at that speed than his did at 120 mph. Probably just because that car is so light.

I actually did. Here is the issue, I have everything running in metric, so I dont know the psi conversion. Except that 35 psi is about 240 kilopascals (what the car shows when using metric). I usually run 235 kilopascals cold. It was up to 290 kilopascals after I slowed down enough to check.

2 tons will feel more stable if it is set up right. Congrats.
