Hellion TT - JRE Cam - Fore E85 Build

After almost a year of research, planning, and saving, I'm ready to start my twin turbo on e85 build. Right now I'm running an NA cammed build putting down 518 to rear wheels. My goal with this setup is somewhere in the 800rwhp area.

After reading through the forums here and talking with Ted Jannetty and Hellion I've finally pulled the trigger.

Thanks to Ted Jannetty, John and Jeff from Hellion, and Justin from Fore for putting up with me and getting all of my questions answered.

Parts Overview:
  • Hellion Twin Turbo System
    • Upgraded to ball bearing turbos
    • eBoost2 w/ 2 4-port solenoids
    • Ceramic coated headers/down pipes
    • Turbo blankets
  • Jannetty Rough Idle Turbo Cam Kit
  • Fore Innovations Level 2 Duel Pump System
    • Fuel Rails
    • Flex Fuel Intercept Fittings
    • Boost/Vacuum Manifold
    • FC3 Controller
    • Hobbs Switch
    • Duel 274 pumps
  • Other Parts
    • Injector Dynamics ID-1700
    • Flex Fuel Sensor
    • ZR1 3-bar MAP Sensor
    • Prosport EVO gauges (Boost, Wideband O2, Fuel Pressure)

As the parts have started to trickle in, I have been feeling like a kid on Christmas morning especially opening those Precision Turbo boxes. I almost have everything delivered I'm just waiting on the rest of the Hellion kit (I received the turbos already). I'm planning on starting the build this weekend. I'll take a few pictures along the way to post here.

This is going to be Awesome, Thank you for choosing JRE to be a part of your build.

Ted.

I'll post some pics of the mountain of parts when I get home tonight.

I know I need to post pics, but I've been a little busy. The intercooler came but I'm still waiting on the rest of the hellion kit for the piping. Here are some teasers. I'll post some progress pics soon too as I've been working on the fuel system.

Didn't have the time this past weekend to get as much done as I would have liked but all considering made some decent progress. So far though I have the new pumps back int he fuel tank, fuel rails, pressure regulator, injectors, and 3 bar MAP mounted and made some progress on wiring together the FC3 controller

I know it is neater but I would not recommend feeding 1 rail or all 8 injectors in a row.

Take the feed line split it to the back of both rails, come off the front of the rails with either a T or Y and then regulator then back to tank.

Put your flex fuel sensor in the return line after the regulator

Ted.

I placed an order tonight with Fore for the fittings I'll need for that configuration so I'll have those shortly and can change the configuration and route the rails to be fed in parallel. Thanks for going over this with me on the phone earlier today.

I am looking at something of the same setup. Looks like you put more time into doing the research :-)

You think the SS Trans and rear can handle the 800rwhp you want?

I've heard so many conflicting reports on that subject. It seems some people break them early on with cammed NA power levels and others see some boosted high hp numbers and are just fine. I think it probably comes down to how it is driven... and in that case I better start saving up for a stronger diff and transmission.

TBH I have the same kit on my car, on 19 psi I'm putting down 1105/980
Have beefed up the rear end with a true track, axels and cover but that's about it.
Same goes for the trans, just a twin disk clutch. Been holding fine.

That's an impressive amount of boost. How long and how many miles have you ran with that setup?

I put on a the LPW cover when I did the JRE Posi Mod and 3.91 gears and I did a twin disk on mine too. I did bust a CV joint on the stock right rear axle but I replaced the axles a couple months ago with some GeForce Outlaws (1500 rwhp rated) axles that I got from Ted.

CGbambam 03-22-2017 07:08 AM

Roughly 3/4 months already, clueless on the miles but I do drive it every weekend. This past week for tx2k I would literally drive 200 miles a day. Not a stock ls3 but pretty close to it. Nightfury cam, ls9 head gasket, arp head studs, callie rods and wiseco flat top pistons, clevite bearings, trunion upgrade and thats about it.

I backed off the 3.91 I had, i went down to 3.23 gears. Felt like I would just be blowing threw the tires. Pull like a freight train all the way up to 180

More progress pics. Got the fuel system done, new cam in, and the hellion kit installed. Holding off on the boost controller temporarily while we get the tuned dialed in with the all of the mods. I'm ordering a bunch of silicone hose so I can clean up all of the boost/vacuum reference lines and I'm making a mounting bracket for the boost/vacuum manifold so I can clean up the engine bay a bit. Currently I'm in the process of data logging for Ted so he can make tuning adjustments. Soon enough I should be able to get out and really stretch its legs.
