2016 Ford Mustang SVT spied testing on the Nürburgring!

Watch the 2016 Ford Mustang SVT / GT350 undergoing testing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife! This would be a high performance version of the new Mustang GT that has yet to go on sale. It has a more aggressive look to it due to a ventilated hood, four exhaust pipes, a big rear diffuser, other rims and a very very loud exhaust note.

Two different cars. One has carbon ceramic brakes, a vented fender and hood, and looks to be running about a 295-305 square setup.

The other is definitely a HiPo but looks to be more GT based.

My guess...either a GT350R and a GT350 or a GT350 and a Cobra.

The one with the Aero is hauling some serious ass

Love it. Now if only Dodge would join in on the party with the Challenger Hellcat along with the Camaro, we would have three great American track cars.

The front end looks like the Predator.

Jchuba03 10-11-2014 11:05 AM

Yea, definitely looks like 2 different cars The first one im almost positive is the gt350, at least thats what the front end leads me to believe.

Both sound beastly.

And on a side note, if you can't get into muscle cars at this point, then you should start rethinking your life choices haha. New Mustang, new camaro around the corner, and the hellcat all with 4 months of each other. Man it's a great time to be a car guy.

I can't wait to see Ford post a lap time ...and then Chevy post video of an even better 2015 Z/28 lap time 10 minutes later.

I'd be really disappointed if the new Ford wasn't superior to the Z/28.

I could see one of those in the garage, school bus yellow or grabber blue

good luck on that. Ford doesn't post lap times. In the past they simply just haven't released them. They don't use them as a marketing tool like some companies do. they just use the ring for testing

Don't be naive, if they beat the z28 ring time we will be hearing about... Until our ears bleed.

Just going off of past history. GT500 was there, no lap time. Ford GT was there, no lap time. Guessing the BOSS was probably there, no lap time. trend says they don't release lap times

woodside783 10-13-2014 12:24 PM

Yeah but I think things have changed and we are in a different time now

Kyle2k 10-13-2014 02:24 PM

Hopefully this development guarantees another z/28 for the 6th gen!

KMPrenger 10-13-2014 04:15 PM

As far as I'm concerned even if Ford posts up a lap time, it won't be accurate against the Z/28s time anyways considering it was in the rain.

GM reps at the magazine testing for the Z/28 stated that the Z/28 was capable of better ring times than that.

We all know the Z/28 is a beast. If this car can beat it, then awesome! But I want to see them together on the same track....or at the very least, similar conditions.

Rain versus dry...you can't compare the two
