** EVERYONE PLEASE READ!!! or risk possible infraction ** POST IN PROPER SUBFORUMS **

Dear all,

A quick glance at the first few pages of the General Discussion forums reveals that MANY threads made in this section should have been made in an appropriate subforum instead. Too many, in fact.

We'd like to request that everyone please make an effort to post your threads in the proper subforums, for these reasons:

1) Posting threads in the appropriate subforums ensures that topics will be more easily found. Someone who comes searching for the topic of your thread can simply go to a specific subforum and more accurately find the thread instead of rummaging through all of the General Discussions forum. It makes searches more accurate and effective.

2) Posting a thread which belongs in a more specific subforum in the General Discussions forum instead, in order to get more views/exposure, won't work because the thread will be moved to the proper subforum.

3) When mods/admins have to spend substantial time moving threads to their proper subforums, it takes away from time that we can spend doing other things to improve and maintain the site.

Thanks in advance. We look forward to seeing more proper placements of new threads. Hopefully, the instances of improperly placed threads is reduced adequately so as not to require the implementation of a warning/infraction system for posters making threads in the wrong forum.

I now have to spend significant blocks of time each day moving threads to proper subforums and have begun issuing warnings/infractions.

Please take note of the original request above. Thanks.
