I hope you guys don't mind me hanging out... It's nice to talk to folks from the home town.

FLYNNZL1 08-21-2009 10:01 PM

The more the merrier, or something like that :)

GTAHVIT 08-21-2009 10:07 PM

Heard from Evo?

FLYNNZL1 08-21-2009 10:17 PM

He text-ed me earlier around 5:00 he was mins away from getting his Camaro. I am sure he is out showing off right now :) My salesman called me tonight and told me they had a Dark Blue with hockey strips SS/RS that someone back out of for sale, I do not know the specs on it.

GTAHVIT 08-21-2009 10:20 PM

Wow.

do the dealers there have many cars on the lot or are most of them ordered cars?

FLYNNZL1 08-21-2009 10:30 PM

I think they are all sold in Tucson, unless someone backs out.

Evotion 08-22-2009 01:19 AM

My wife was able to snap a few pics in between the storms tonight. Took about 50 miles or so for the butterflies to go away. I am now very comfortable with the car... there are no words to describe the feeling. These cars are just.............................................. ......................

My daughter wiggled her way in to almost all the pics.:D

:bangdesk:Hi, I don't live in Tucson, but it is the closest larger city to me. I live in Thatcher/Safford, about 120 miles east. My car should be showing up in the next week or so. It says it was shipped about 2 days ago from the plant. I ordered (2nd order long story) 2SSRS in Inferno Orange Cyber gray rally stripes and cyber gray hockey stripes. I also have the dealer putting on the ground effects, Corsa Exhaust, Cold Air Intake, fuel door, and inferno orange engine cover. I would be intested in participating in any Tucson events. Thanks.

FLYNNZL1 08-22-2009 11:56 AM

Welcome, sounds like you have a sweet ride coming in :)

40years 08-22-2009 12:32 PM

Hello all. Just thought that I would drop by and say "HI". I may be a little to old to be hanging with you guys but I have never outgrown love for a great car. Have had my new baby for 17 days now, (but who's counting) and it is the most KICK-ASS car that I have ever owned. My first car (1969) was a 67 SS/RS Camaro conv. 350 4sp, white with red interior. Drove that for about a year then traded it in on a new 1970 1/2 Z-28 4sp. Drove that on the street for a year and then turned it into a full on drag race car that I raced for 7 years. This new on is by far the best. If you see me driving around the north/northwest side, give a honk and a wave. I think a full hand showing all five fingers to signify membership in CAMARO5 would be appropriate. Any thoughts?:headbang:

Lived here since 1972. Actually. the Oro Valley town limits stop across the street on Calle Concordia. They really have no LEGAL jurisdiction on the divided section. Having said that, I never go more than 2-3 miles over the limit when within their town limits. Have fought their annexation attempts twice over the years and the last time I even called out their chief of police at a town meeting for setting up an illegal speed trap on Calle Concordia to catch the students from Canyon Del Oro. After they received copies of e-mails complete with pics that I sent to the state and county attorneys, the speed traps were never seen again. I will not give them the pleasure of ever writing me a speeding ticket. Hey all, maybe we could all meet for breakfast some Saturday or Sunday morning for a group picture?:iono:

Mmmmmmmm, food!!!!!!!!

FLYNNZL1 08-22-2009 05:46 PM

I would like that, but maybe a early dinner, my wife works from 7am to 3pm on the weekend, she could always get the day off too. What ever works, I up for it.

Ok, let me throw this out there and let me know what you think. There is a place called Lupe's in Oracle Jct. ( a little far ) that has great Mexican food at reasonible prices and they have a very large parking lot with the back side of the Catalinas as a background. Not a lot of people to get in the way either. It is a nice drive out there except for the part where you have to go thru Oro Valley. Thoughts as to day and time? Or maybe another location?

FLYNNZL1 08-22-2009 06:03 PM

I know that place, that's fine, even if they don't have Pepsi :). I am easy, and let's face it, if we have to drive to the other side of town, that's cool :)
I am going to see District 9 at Tower Theaters tonight at 5, then maybe Sonic on Thornydale afterwards

GTAHVIT 08-22-2009 08:10 PM

Yea, we had one room schools back then. SOMEONE had to pave the way for you younger guys. Glad I could do my part.

Krazy and old 08-23-2009 09:20 AM

flynnaz - better check the owners manual but, I would say...gentle (not over 4000 rpm) to 500 miles at least.

Wasn't the first Camaro born in 67???

Sure was. 2-1/2 years after the Mustang. My first CAR was a 1967 Camaro SS/RS Convertable. 350 4spd white with a red interior.

FLYNNZL1 08-23-2009 09:32 AM

I am at 800 now, I am still varying the speed, I have gone over 4000 maybe three times now, couldn't help it :). I plan on changing the oil around 1000, then no more babying it ;)

Krazy and old 08-23-2009 09:48 AM

40years - sounds nice!!

Flynnaz - sounds like a good plan. I know your wife wants to help by racking up some mileage on it...:)

FLYNNZL1 08-23-2009 10:23 AM

Yes she does, she take it to work again :(, I need to find a way to make her bord of it?????.... lol
