9" kit questions.......vendors chime in please
 

well lets just say i already own 1400hp axles and just recieved a dss aluminum driveshaft from a friend who switched to an auto 4l80e on his m6 car which had a 9" already in it. Are there any vendors who sell the 9" pumpkin/center section only or do they only sell as a kit?? anyone know please let me know......thanks

The only thing that I know of is DSS selling the Hammerhead.

I've read Frank at DSS post a few times that if you already own the axles you can send them in to get swapped to the 9" ends and they can supply you with the rest of the kit.

Give them a phone call.

Yeah, I remember. Haven't been out in forever. I got a 9" with 4.57s installed so I'm itching to get back out there. But we just had another kid so I've been busy with diaper duty.

But, the difference in price isn't that much. The DSS doesn't come gears whereas the Hammerhead does.

lol diaper duty :yikes: ill be there soon too man and congrats on the kiddos......lookin forward to seein ginger bust into 11's no problem now with a hard launch!! Its been way too hot too cant wait for cooler weather hope to c u up there soon man

i havent called anybody yet but online they seem to only offer the kit as well but then again it might be different*once i give a call

Try Matt at FSP as he might be able to break the kit down for you. Otherwise, I would just call DSS directly. Frank is always willing to work with his customers and give them exactly what they need.

I'm waiting for my 12 bolt Hammerhead to arrive from DSS at the end of the week. I will be doing an installation thread on the 12 bolt.
