FLOW FORGED Z28 REPLICA...
 

Anybody seen or have these? ACE ALLOY WHEELS - FLOW FORM V028: They are identical to the MRR M228, only with a slight movement of the valve stem opening, which prevents the "Valve Stem Clearance Issue" with the weights on the front Brembo Brakes... In addition, THEY ARE FLOW FORMED, (just like the newer MRR M017)!

Per the Manufacturer, they are Hub Centric and available in 3 finishes: Satin Black, Black Chrome, and Liquid Silver with Machined Face. They are also HUBCENTRIC to the Camaro, made in California, and produced in various configurations:

20x9 with +25 or +30 offsets... ~22 lbs.
20x10 with +25 or +35 offsets... ~26 lbs.
20x11 wih +45 or +49 offsets... ~27 lbs.

Anybody have a set yet? Im considering these or the MMR M017s... Just making you guys aware of another viable option? They also offer a 3 year Warranty on the FINISH, compared to MRRs 1 year warranty on the FINISH. Both have same so-called lifetime structural warranty... They also "claim" that their Flow Forming Process is superior to other manufacturers flow forming...

Note: The Photo shows MATTE BLACK. However, I verified with the Manufacturer that it is NOT available in Matte Black; it should have read SATIN BLACK!

Its unlikely that anybody has these because theyre so new... I saw PK advertising a different model of Ace Alloy wheels a while ago... but these are brand new. Figured they must be decent...a

Just purchased a set of Ace Alloy Factory Flow Form V028 Wheels... They are designed EXACTLY like the original Z28 wheel, with the valve stems in the OEM location. No need to worry about short valve stems and clearance issues. In addition, they are Flow Formed. Some manufacturers use the term Flow Forged to describe the manufacturng process instead; either way, they are stronger and lighter than a low pressure cast wheel... but not quite as strong as a truly Monoblock Forged wheel.

While they are available in more sizes and colors, I opted for: 20x10 +35 with Continental DWS06 275/40/20 (Front) and 20x11 +45 with Continental DWS06 315/35/20 (Rear). Front wheels weigh in @ 26lbs each and the rears are 27lbs each. They are identical to the MRR M228 in the spoke design, minus the odd placement of the valve stem opening. The design is NOT to be confused with the Factory Reproduction design and some of the others that have more of an "inspired" Z28 design; these are spot on! I chose the Black Chrome PVD finish... (OEM 5th Gen Centercaps Fit).

What I can also tell you is that these wheels have several certifications that meet the strict Japanese wheel industry standards, as well as those in Germany. In fact, while it has the same JWL standard that the M228 has, it also has the additional TUV Certification. (Read about the difference here; the JWL, VIA, and TUV are NOT the same).

The V028 wheels have the same lifetime structural warranty that comes with the MRR M228. However, the finish has a 3 year warranty instead of MRRs 1 year warranty. Note: I doubt anybody's "lifetime structural warranty" is really worth anything; break or bend it and they'll BOTH likely accuse you of hitting a curb? (I see it as FLUFF)... :iono:

The price I paid includes mounting, balancing, and installation; it also includes NON-PRORATED free replacement of all four tires for the life of the tire, (2/32). They also threw in Gorilla Black Chrome Splines, (The System), for FREE... Lastly, they are running a Presidents Day Promotion for up to $320.00 in Visa Gift Cards; mine worked out to be $295.00. All in all, I paid $2,626.30; yet, I have a $295.00 gift card coming back... So I see it as a great $2,331.30 wheel & tire deal that just can't be beat. Let me know if you'd like to know where I got them... (Don't want step on anybody's toes; would've been around $200 cheaper if I would've went MRR M228)... Sales Over on the 17th!

Might want to check out my last post... WAAAAAAY more reasonable than you think! Just depends on where you get them. The MRR M228s can be got cheaper even locally than you can find even on Ebay, let alone any of the Vendors here... You'll get the Flow Form V028 for less than what the MRRs are selling for from ALL Camaro5 Vendors...

So are these on the car now? The rear offset is ok ? Pics would be cool.I can only find them with a 49mm offset on the rear. I like the sound of the extra 1/4" tuck from the rear offset.

Not yet... but they are made SPECIFICALLY for our cars. The manufacturer gave us another 2mm of "tuck", (~1/8" not 1/4"), by using 20x10 +25 and 20x11 +45... vs 20x10 +23 and 20x11 +43; however, I still went 20x10 +35 in the front because it's the same size most seem to favor in the MRRs when they want the best "tuck", without adjusting camber. I also don't want to add rock guards so it seemed more practical for me...

They are manufactured in a LOT of sizes and offsets... even 20x9. The manufacturer stated they were specifically trying to allow a "slightly more tucked fitment", while still keeping an aggressive stance. In addition, PK Auto sells them too! It was just more cost effective for ME because I catch nails in the sidewall frequently, since I work on job sites with Carpenters! I like being able to pull up and get the tires replaced FREE without jumping through any hoops. PK Auto can also get them for you... I don't believe he would sell them to you if they didn't fit properly... Will post picks after they come in!:thumbsup:
