2010 Camaro SS vs Civic Hatch w/Built B20

Thought I would make this post since there hasn't been much in the vs section. Some local hotshot kid thinks his Civic hatch is the best thing since sliced bread. Apparently he has a built B20 still NA, forged pistons, 11.5 compression, stage 2 cams, 70mm TB, and a full exhaust. He is giddy that he beat a stock 5.7 GTO by two car lengths. I don't know anything about Honda's. But he wants us to get together and do a few runs. My mods are in my sig, I don't know anything about his build other than what I've listed. Clearly there is a huge weight advantage in his favor, but I'm hoping the power difference is more than enough to make up for it.

Most likely would be roll races in a controlled environment so not technically a street race. I'm not all that worried about it, however I'm at work with 10 hours to kill so might as well make this thread and get opinions :smiling1:

Stomp him!!!!!! :D

At 207fwhp, you should be fine. There are some damn fast rice burners out there, but this doesn't sound like one. Good luck. :)

I mean I'll do my best! And I agree. A properly built civic hatch aint no joke, I've watched some people get embarrassed hard that way. Fortunately for me, this doesn't seem like one of those. Just got an update as to what he has done to the engine, will update the OP to contain that info!

You'd love a set of 3.91's on your car. Make that your next upgrade. :)

It might not be the next but it's definitely on the list! I'd like to finally get new wheels/tires. I'm sick of looking at the stock wheels and these tires suck :smiling1:

I built a N/A GSR engine in a 1993 Integra. Forged pistons and rods, 13.1 compression, zero balanced, stage 2 Crower cams and valvetrain, shit I could go on. Capable of revving to 10k rpms. It was a beast!! There were few streetable v8s that could keep up. Only downfall was my short geared transmission. At 70mph I would be hovering around 5k rpms. While I don't think this civic will give you much trouble, they ain't always slow.

That's good to know! I'll keep that in mind!

if your rollin it's all about knowin the right gear for what ever mph you start at...careful not to blow off the rear tires 'cuss if he gets the jump...you prob already have but if not go out and try different mph starts in diff gear...and try to pick an area you are familiar with...aka low popo presence...good luck..

Speedster are you going from a dig or roll? One thing ive found out over the last few years is that you never know what the car beside you can do....seems average looking cars have built drivetrains these days. So im not buying the honda insults lol. If it is built..gutted and is purely for racing then it should be good....but it could also be an over excited owner giving his car more credit then he should. Do a run from a slow roll and a dig...not the bullshit 40 mph rolls you see guys do. I think you win either way.....i see drag radials in your future. Also regarding stock looking....i like the fact that my full bolton... geared...stalled car looks bone stock. Only the trained eyes notice the drag radials and start asking question.....i like that look and thik your car looks good as it is.

When I supercharge mine one day, it'll still look like a "regular" SS. :D
