Getting Rid of my Camaro .... (not an ad)

SO, I finally made the decision that I am going to be selling my CAMARO. From the time that they stopped production on the 4th Generation... I highly anticipated the 5th Generation. Once I saw the prototype in LA in 2006 (a red one), I knew I had to have it...
VIN 11847....
Well, sorry, but it did not live up to expectations... the power is not overwelming, (maybe shoulda got the 6M?)
Quality issues left and right...
A Pillar trim, POOR fit and finish on interior door to dash panels, Incomplete ambient lighting, Wheels Weights on Brembo brakes, Lose Spoiler Nuts, Emergency Brake Handle that feels incomplete... (try squeezing it), after only one summer my Air Cond feels like it needs to be recharged... a warm 80 degrees this past Saturday, and I had to air out the car, til the car cooled to a reasonable temp, never got cold, Body Gaps that in my opinion are bigger than they should be... Tire/Rim combo that doesnt hold the air...

I know will probably get flamed for posting such negativety on "the great one", but trust me people, its not. Perhaps many of you are first time new car buyers, or have a glaze over your eyes that GM, Camaro can do no wrong... but quite frankly for 36k, I would expect so much more... (not a car that feels as if it would see 10years, due to poor craftmanship)

I am sure a camaro is in my future... after all in my 39 yrs of life, I have owned more than 10, but this is one that I can say I am not sad to see it go... I will get a used one down the line... that way, when I pay 18K, I know that I have bought a used car, and should expect issues...

No flaming here. If you don't like it, you don't like it I guess. No harm no foul. You should get decent money for it at least.

Actually I did... took a minimal loss...

But your keeping the 99?

This is hands down the best put together camaro since 69.

The weights is an honest complaint? Really?

Loose spoiler nuts.....drive car to dealer....nuts tightened, or place socket over loose nut, tighten.

Squeezes ebrake handle, feels squishy, you should definately sell the car now.

body gaps? They look like every other cars body gaps.

The door lighting always gets compliments, they dont say "wtf, thats not complete".

Did you forget maybe that the car is fun to drive? I know I know, the power is underwelming. To each his own my man. Im sure I could nit pick a list on a lambo if I wanted to.

Did the same thing too, just with a 2009 Dodge Ram. What a POS. Love my GMC.

It's the small annoying little quirks that just drive you crazy after awhile.

At lewast you didn't take too bad a haircut on it.

I too drove the Auto and was surprised at how much less powerful it felt then the M6. The things you mention, outside of the underwhelming power, are not deal breakers................But, Hey man, it is your coin. Iif your not happy, move on and good luck. I am afraid that it is the best of the Pony Cars so it may be time for a Porche.

Some people will like them.. some don't.

That's the issue with buying the first year production model run.
Things need to get worked out and corrected. Some things you mentioned are already fixed and addressed.

I am extremely happy with mine as I have already customized it past the point where the Z/28 will most likely be from a performance or handling level.

to each his own, but i personally think 36k for a decent handling car with over 400hp is a pretty decent deal just my .02

My 2010 SS/RS M6 is the 6th Camaro I have owned and by far the best. I haven't driven an auto, so maybe there is a difference in performance.

Good luck, hopefully you will find what you are looking for..............I did

Nice blanket statement. Sorry, but there are many up here who don't feel this way and we don't have a glaze over our eyes.

This car is such a piece of crap, but you'll have one again? Okay???????
Hey do what you gotta do, say what you want about the car, but don't insult those who love the car by telling us we may be first time car buyers, or have a glaze over our eyes. No need to do this.

Bummer that you're not satisfied. I will say that some of your complaints are pretty silly, trivial even.

Come to think of it, didn't GM make a commercial about you? You're that guy that returns everything!

Darth_Emma 01-04-2010 07:30 PM

Bummer. Now I'm reconsidering taking delivery on my 2SS... NOT!
