Thanks. Been out of town a lot lately.

Here is the new intake. The crazy IR cross ram intake has to get the CNC routines ironed out so instead of waiting any longer on that one, we had Hogan built this custom intake to NRE's specific specs for this engine/car. i.e. The plenum area, runner cross section dimensions, height (this clears the raised hood we bought by about a 1/4") and the hidden plumbing goodies are for this car.

Picture 1 - The intake on the bench with the billet nose pieces in place. This intake has a huge plenum volume and tons of runner length.
Picture 2 - The hidden octane-on-demand fuel distribution system.
Picture 3 - The business end of the hidden fuel rail and hidden injectors. Note that the lower set of injectors is completely horizontal. The injector will shoot right to the back of the valve.

Now we just need to get everything connected and wired. Then the hardline turbo plumbing will be done and onto the dyno it will go. :D

My god!!!:emoticon17: This has to be the most amazing Gen 5 Camaro build ever!!!. That intake is pure engine porn. My Camaro looks like a piece of junk next to that. I cannot wait to see this done...... need more pics now. :w00t:

Hey Bruce , the space shuttle doesnt have that many things to control! On a serious note: Very cool indeed!!

Bruce... I've been trying to find time to read through your entire build thread. and after finally doing so I realized that I would end up quoting every single build post and most of the others in a multi-post, mega-quote.

so, I do have some things I want to chat with you about, but for now, I do believe you have definitely raised the bar when it comes to building a master piece.

that said, the only real thing I can think of to describe this process of yours is the following:

A True HotRodder wouldn't be content until he had created a car so violent, so totally sick, that the act of dropping the hammer would result in instant death. Anything less results in the need to go -- faster.

Thanks. Yeah a little bit of engine porn is good for you every now and then. :)

Yeah, quite a bit of special wiring, but I think we have it all figured out. I just hope I don't hit the line loc button and have the air bags deploy....

Hey Spike -

You definitely come up with the mega-profound statements. I am flattered except for I hope we don't expire the first time we mash the gas !!! :D

The SST is a little out of the norm, hence the phrase "Too Much Horsepower is Almost Enough..."

Thanks !

P.S. PM me anytime for less than stellar answers...lol

Nice Tracking number !!!

Not quite as nice as that gauge cluster, but we were lucky enough to do some of work on this cockpit's avionics...

the only time you are making too much power is when you are spinning the wheels at idle. :headbang:

Space Coast, but the SST is out in California right now.

mikepage0007 09-29-2010 05:30 PM

bruce , why don,t you just fly out to cali and drive to camarofest...oh , yeah you plan to have it home this year:D:drinking:

Mr Twisty 09-30-2010 09:44 AM

My prediction is, your torque curve will be so flat they'll be calling it a 'torque plane' :D

... and 8,000 rpm redline :yikes:

Either that or it will be a torque cliff if we blow it up...lol :sm0:
It actually can go well above 8K with the solid roller, but we are going to set the rev limiter to 6,500. That reinforces its streetablility, plus it is a whole lot easier on the valvesprings.
