Sound like it's in the control system if the rad level is full.

Josh @ Spartan LSX 02-17-2016 07:49 AM

Could also be a clogged heater core.

xc_SS/RS 02-17-2016 08:14 AM

Aren't there check valves in the hoses that run to the heater core? Maybe the inlet one is stuck?

vroomapunk 02-17-2016 08:30 AM

Could be an actuator in one of the doors that opens and closes to let in cold vs hot air through the vents

Trob85 02-17-2016 11:03 AM

How many miles? I would guess clogged heater core.

GONIF 02-17-2016 11:06 AM

Most likely a bad made in China actuator that has stripped plastic gears .Did you hear a clicking/thumping noise coming from the dash B4 it stopped working ?

WILDRACER 02-17-2016 11:59 AM

the car has only 52385 on it and it is all stock

WILDRACER 02-17-2016 12:00 PM

to be honest with you as with the clicking sound that I wouldn't know I play my music kinda loud in the car

Try setting you controls to heat fan on high , then disconnect you battery overnight then hook up you battery and drive the car and see if that wont reset it . it will have to come up to temp B4 you get heat .

Don't forget to check for a bad stat, easy to do. It could be stuck in a partially open position allowing constant flow so the water never has time to really heat up as needed.

here is an up date on my heating problem. I took it to the dealership and had them take a look at it and well the fix is a new heater box. the little flapper that opens and closes for the heat temp broke off the actuator and its not cheap.... 8-9 hour job 1500 bucks..

I'm guessing you have to remove the windshield to fix it? No matter how you slice it that's just bad engineering on GM's part.:emoticon1::frusty:
