Broken Half shaft

Well I broke my first part on my 2010 Camaro. My car is all stock but managed to break the right side half shaft. Has anyone else broken one ?
Also, Posi doesn't seem to hold well. I would have expected the car to be able to move with one broken half shaft.

Broken axles are very common in this car. The type of posi this car has needs to have some load or traction from one wheel for the other to move. That's why your dead in the water with a broken axle. If you had a locker then you would be able to move baring that nothing was causing a bind.

M6 owners have broken alot of axles. Have not heard of a A6 owner breaking on yet. I think it is the shock to the drivetrain of dropping the clutch that is making them finally snap.

The stock cvs are junk thats for sure.If we can help you out give us a call.

Yep, lots of people have broken both the axles and cv joints with not much more then stock power.
We have 2 versions of axles available, our 4340 axles and our 300m axles.
Give me or one of our dealers a call or check out our web site for some great deals.

Thanks
Chris

From the outside, My failure looks the same. Wasn't exactly prepared to spend 1500-1800 bucks on upgraded axles.

Is your dealer taking care of this or are you getting upgraded axles?

Turbobitt 07-29-2010 08:41 AM

For now the dealer is taking care of it but that won't stop me from considering upgraded axles.
