Upgrades necessary with Procharger?

I'm looking to add a procharger to my 2010 manual. I'm currently making about 490 at the tired with a new cam, heads, and a full exhaust. After the procharger is it necessary to upgrade the rear end if I don't plan on launching it hard at the track and I'll mostly just be doing highway pulls?

Thanks

Fuel,driveshaft,suspension are popular.

If roll racing, I think the rear should last a bit.

what is your cam spec.

the better question is what power level are you trying to reach?

I personally think the rear end is fairly strong, minus the posi unit. I shredded my spider gears with 620whp but several trips to the track. That was more because of my burnout and 1 wheel peels.

I ran a 10.99 and tons of low 11 second passes at the track with completely stock rear end, trans, and suspension. Only upgrades i did were clutch(mcleod RXT) and axles(DSS1400hp), and 18" DR's.

Even after snapping my output shaft (known issues on early 2010 builds) and my posi unit... i went back to stock. But after finishing my motor build this year i plan on at least doing the JRE posi mod.. or ZL1 rear end conversion. But i will be upwards of 900-1000whp then.

The rear will be fine if not drag racing all of the time. Just put the blower on with a alky control meth it and have at it. I see you're in Baton Rouge so what shop do you deal with? If you don't have one Futral Motorsports in Walker can get it done for you.

Thanks guys...I go to Futral now. They haven't worked on my car yet. The work was done in Florida though.
If I am gonna replace either the differential or axles which one should have priority?

Axles. Hands down.

What cam are you running? It's definitely not boost friendly making 490.

Camper 09-09-2013 06:08 PM

it may be fine for a centri/procharger. You'd be suprised as to whats boost friendly for a centri/procharger

2SS45th 09-09-2013 06:11 PM

No I know centri cams, the one I run is for a centri as well, but 490 is very NA oriented is all. It'll work fine, but I was just surprised by the NA number.

My big issue is I'm not sure of the cam's exact specs...was already in the car when I purchased it

Gotcha, maybe try to figure that out if you can, it will help your tuner out.

Is it possible without paying for the engine to be torn down?

2SS45th 09-09-2013 06:28 PM

If you can find the shop that did the work yeah, or the first owner. I wouldn't tear stuff apart to find out if I were you, it won't make a huge difference anyways.

Did you buy the car from someone on this forum? Also, what state was the car in. Some of the people on here can probably help narrow down what shop the car was at.
